West Ham star Declan Rice speaks on Old Trafford's move amid United's link with 18 year old Belgian

Declan Rice, a target for Manchester United, has already expressed his admiration for Old Trafford, and Erik ten Hag's team is apparently prepared to make a summer offer for the West Ham captain.

Numerous teams are hoping to sign the 24-year-old midfielder this summer as he has distinguished himself as one of the best in his position in English football.

According to Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail, Rice is the key midfield target of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. Rice has also been linked to Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Arsenal.

However, the same source claims that Manchester United has now entered the contest.

Ten Hag reportedly wants to upgrade United's midfield this summer and thinks Rice can provide the team "steel and energy."

While the team won't be able to recruit all three players within their summer budget, the Dutchman believes that Rice, Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, and Tottenham forward Harry Kane would make the perfect additions to his dressing room.

Recent statements from Rice about Old Trafford have come back to light.

At the time of West Ham's 1-0 loss against United at Old Trafford in January 2022, Rice was extensively linked to a transfer to the Manchester club. Rice played the whole 90 minutes for West Ham during that match.

At that time, both clubs were vying for Champions League play. Even though West Ham is now in the bottom half of the Premier League standings, they will guarantee themselves a spot in the Europa League if they defeat Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final.

Speaking after the game, Rice said (quotes via talkSPORT): "I was loving it. Every time I come to Old Trafford, I've always said it's one of my favourite places to play. It's an amazing stadium."

If Ten Hag leaves West Ham, United and Ten Hag will undoubtedly hope that the 24-year-old will be lining up in their team's uniform at Old Trafford next season rather than joining one of their Premier League rivals.

Elsewhere, Today, Arthur Vermeeren's name is brought up in relation to Manchester United.

The information actually came from Spanish media, specifically the Catalan publication Sport, which published an article regarding Barcelona's interest in the 18-year-old Royal Antwerp FC mid fielder.

The Belgian teenager is allegedly a target for Barcelona, who are looking to replace midfielder Sergio Busquets.

Though Manchester United appears to be major competitors for the signing, Barcelona shouldn't have an easy problem luring him to the club. Rumors claimed Erik ten Hag is 'in love' with Vermeeren's playing style, it is believed that United have already 'contacted' Vermeeren's entourage.

Sportwitness asserted that Barcelona was interested in the player and stated that the club already knew about him, but they did not specify whether the La Liga team had previously initiated contact with the club about the signing.

Vermeeren's transfer this summer is expected to cost roughly €8 million, according to the newspaper. Barça is rumored to be 'attentive' to him, which may be an indication that Manchester United may easily take the initiative to close a deal.
