United backed to hijack Jurrien Timber's Liverpool move as Tottenham eyes for David Raya

Jurrien Timber, a transfer target for Manchester United, is expected to complete his transfer from Ajax to Liverpool.

Amsterdam Ajax center back Erik ten Hag at Manchester United continues to keep an eye on Jurrien Timber, and there are rumors that Liverpool is also interested.

Two former Netherlands internationals, Andy van der Meyde and Wesley Sneijder, were talking about Ajax's possibilities of winning the title in the upcoming seasons while keeping this in mind. They discussed how player sales could help the Dutch giants finance their operations.

According to Dutch publication Voetbolzone.nl, Van der Meyde, who participated in a number of games for the Netherlands' senior team between 2002 and 2004, said on Veronica Offside:

"Timber will probably go to Liverpool. They also pay crazy money. Then you can start building again.”

A center-back like Timber, who is young, fit, and quick, can help the Reds. The 21-year-old is also reasonably competent in possession and with his passing, as many who have seen him would attest. Not to mention that he can regularly pick up new skills from a top defender like Van Dijk and has a high ceiling.

In addition, Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo would be familiar with him from their time playing together in the Netherlands senior squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. That could help Liverpool get an edge in this race, hopefully.

Given that Ten Hag was the player's manager at Ajax, Manchester United may also have a strong Dutch link. He would also be acquainted with Lisandro Martinez, Antony, and Dutchmen Tyrell Malacia, all of whom were former Ajax teammates.

It seems obvious that Timber will transfer to a bigger team at the end of the season, wherever his next stop may be. If he were to join United, I would be afraid that he lacks the physicality and ferocity necessary to play in the Premier League, but everyone is pleased with how Lisandro Martinez proved his critics wrong.

He told De Telegraaf: “A transfer is getting closer and closer, so to speak. There is a lot of concrete interest and I have made agreements with Ajax.

“Last year Ajax asked me to stay for at least one more season and to extend my contract. As a club boy I did that with love and after the season we will review the situation."

He added: “At the Dutch national team, I often talk to boys who play football abroad. I want to take that step someday. But when that is, you will eventually hear and it will happen in consultation with Ajax."

“I’m still here anyway and I’m in no hurry. The focus is now on the cup final and the remainder of the competition.”

Tottenham Hotspur to rival United for David Raya

David Raya, a goalkeeper for Brentford who is wanted by Manchester United, is interested in being signed by Tottenham Hotspur. The Spaniard has recently been mentioned in connection with United on several occasions.

In order to either challenge David de Gea or succeed him, United wants to add a goalkeeper this summer. There are allegedly many doubts regarding De Gea's compatibility with Erik ten Hag's system within the club.

According to The Manchester Evening News, some club members want De Gea to depart and be replaced by a new player.

“It’s understood some figures at United want to move on from De Gea and there are growing concerns, which have been exacerbated by his recent performances, among others about his suitability for the rebuild of the club," Manchester Evening News claims.

There are no guarantees concerning De Gea's position as the team's starting goalkeeper for the upcoming season, but he is close to signing a contract extension to prolong his tenure at Old Trafford.

United and Raya have been connected as a result. The news that highlighted Brentford's resignation due to losing Raya was covered by The Peoples Person.

Mark Flekken, a player from Freiburg, has been lined up by the Bees to take Raya's place.

According to a recent report by Fabrizio Romano, Brentford is ready to activate Flekken's €13 million release clause and finalize a deal to join the Dutchman. Raya will be able to move on as a result of this.

As per Romano, “Tottenham already exploring multiple options for new goalkeeper — David Raya, one of the names in the list but final decision will be made together with new director.”

“Hugo Lloris, expected to leave at the end of current season.”

ManUnitedGistlovers reported a couple of months ago that sources claimed, a Man Utd star has emerged as one of two ready-made replacements with Premier League experience after a Tottenham veteran may have played his final match for the club.

A season that held out so much hope but ultimately failed to materialize has been another torturous campaign for Tottenham.

One of his best ever campaigns is one that Harry Kane is quietly savoring. But for Erling Haaland, Kane's goal total of 25 would put him five goals ahead of Ivan Toney in the battle for the English Premier League's Golden Boot.

Other Spurs players, most notably Hugo Lloris, have experienced seasons at the other end of the scale.

The 36-year-old French goalkeeper is presently ranked first in the Premier League for mistakes that result in goals. Only two players (Illan Meslier and Idirssa Gueye) are on three, which makes his four-point total all the more worrisome.

Lloris has obviously outlived his usefulness, and there is growing suspicion that his 11-year stay in north London will come to an end this summer.

The end of the upcoming season marks the end of Lloris' current contract. Although a premature departure this summer is still being discussed, The Evening Standard reports that he might never play for Tottenham again given his present thigh injury.

Lloris will not play in Saturday's match between Tottenham and Crystal Palace. He is a "major doubt" to play again this season, according to The Standard.

If it happens, Lloris' last competitive match in a Tottenham shirt will be the humiliating 6-1 loss to Newcastle. Although they are not considered to be competitive games, he will be entitled to a testimonial.

According to The Standard, Spurs will likely be looking for a new No. 1 this summer. The Daily Mail speculates that either Manchester United or Brentford might provide Lloris with a successor.

According to Football Insider, Dean Henderson has decided that the game is finished at Old Trafford in the absence of David de Gea zeroing in on a new contract.

Henderson is now on loan at Nottingham Forest, where he intends to play frequently in order to gain a spot in England's Euro 2024 roster. The only way they can relocate permanently to Forest is if they avoid the plunge.

The Mail reports that Tottenham are also interested in signing Henderson, and recent thigh surgery-related concerns have somewhat subsided.

Henderson had surgery to fix a thigh issue that has kept him from playing since mid-January. The Manchester Evening News said that he might not be available until August, but the player has a different interpretation of events.

Henderson said he "will be back for pre season" in an update on his rehabilitation time posted to Instagram. A summer transfer should not be prevented because of this. It would appear that everyone would profit if Henderson moved to Tottenham.

Spurs would acquire a fresh number one who is ready to go, while United would recuperate a substantial amount for a squad player. Henderson would also fulfill his ambition by starting every game for one of England's elite clubs.

David Raya of Brentford is another candidate that Tottenham is reportedly investigating, according to The Mail.

The Bees, who are anticipated to make as much money as they can this summer, won't offer the Spain international a new contract.

Henderson has a price tag of £30 million, while Thomas Frank earlier estimated Raya's value at £40 million.
