Manchester United still interested in Martin Zubimendi despite Arsenal, Madrid and Barca interests

Manchester United is currently working nonstop to qualify for the Champions League with three games remaining. However, the worst moment to get injuries is right now.

Scott McTominay has now missed nine straight games, while Marcel Sabitzer, who was brought in on loan, has been declared out for the remainder of the year. One of the long-term injury absentees is Donny van de Beek.

Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Fred are the only available choices for manager Erik ten Hag in the midfield right now. In recent games, the former Real Madrid player has appeared lanky, and the Danish player's off-the-ball activity has come under scrutiny.

While Eriksen was out with an extended injury, Casemiro was forced to miss three different games due to suspension.

Before the upcoming season, it is safe to conclude that a new flexible midfielder will be needed because Fred lacks the necessary qualities to consistently start games.

Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad has been mentioned by Mundo Deportivo. The Spaniard has been associated with the Red Devils ever since his spectacular performances against the squad from Old Trafford during the Europa League group stages.

With 40 games played across all competitions, the 24-year-old has been a constant presence for the team and has accrued the highest playing time for an outfielder.

The international player from Spain has also contributed with a goal and three assists. He excels when playing as the defensive pivot, although he can also move further forward if necessary.

"At Real they are aware that Xavi ‘s Barça is very interested, although they are convinced that they were not going to be able to pay the amount of their freedom."

“That Mikel Arteta ‘s Arsenal is watching him is common knowledge and that he is on Manchester United’s radar they learned first-hand in the two Europa League matches this season, in which the dazzling performance of the San Sebastian seduced the British.”

His release clause of €60 million must be satisfied before the San Sebastián squad will initiate negotiations.

La Real are quietly optimistic that they will be able to hang onto their top player because the midfielder has often stated that he is content at Sociedad and wants to represent his team in the Champions League.

It will be difficult to lure Zubimendi away from his hometown club given that he has a contract that runs through 2027.

United should make an effort to recruit him if he does become available, though, since they are in need of a younger option to both Casemiro and Eriksen.
