Man United's mid field duo set for exit as Declan Rice and Mason Mount's United links intesifies

If Erik ten Hag is successful in bringing Mason Mount to Old Trafford, two Manchester United midfielders might depart, and a report has shown how Arsenal, West Ham, Newcastle, and Brighton could profit.

One of the summer's most anticipated transfer sagas is the one involving Mason Mount's future. The 24-year-old is the current Chelsea Player of the Year and a two-time award winner. Despite planning to depart Stamford Bridge this summer, Mount is also a native.

His current deal expires in the summer of 2024, and he will be forced out if negotiations with new manager Mauricio Pochettino don't result in an extension.

As a serious competitor to move Mount up north, Liverpool has emerged. The Athletic, however, asserted that Mount prefers to travel to Manchester United.

According to today's transfer rumors, Manchester United beat out Liverpool in the competition. The Red Devils are moving more quickly and have made numerous inquiries.

A recent Sun update has now clarified the potential consequences of Mount joining Manchester United. According to the newspaper, if Mount agrees to the terms, both Scott McTominay and Donny Van van Beek might be fired.

Van van Beek's English career, according to a Man Utd source, is "on the knife-edge." The final straw that would cause Van de Beek to be sold back to mainland Europe would be the arrival of Mount.

But McTominay will get more attention because West Ham, Newcastle, and Brighton are all vying for his services. Newcastle are well-known admirers of the 26-year-old, and their participation in the Champions League in 2019 may help them close a deal.

Brighton, on the other hand, is likewise a team on the rise and has earned a spot in the Europa League. If West Ham defeats Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League championship match on June 7, they will also qualify for the Europa League.

The Hammers are scouting prospective Declan Rice successors, and if McTominay moved to West Ham, Arsenal would then be free to pursue a deal for Rice, who is Mikel Arteta's top transfer priority.

According to Sky Sports, Rice allegedly has a "gentleman's agreement" with West Ham that allows him to leave if bids worth £120 million are made. West Ham might be more inclined to lower their outrageous asking price for Rice if they can land a competent replacement in the form of McTominay, who is valued at £30 million.

"The club are keen to make Mason Mount a Manchester United player," according to The Sun.

"They think he can come straight into the first team and make a positive difference to them. But they are not prepared to pay silly money and they have set the bar for what they will go to, to £60m."

“Mason is attracted to the idea of being able to link up with so many of his England colleagues like Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire. He has made it clear to his advisers that United is now the club he wants to go to and is pushing for the deal to happen."

“But Mason’s arrival would leave McTominay further down the pecking order and he’s at a stage of his career now where he wants to be playing every week."

“There are no shortage of clubs interested and although United are not necessarily keen to sell him, he is likely to try and push for a move to take the next step in his career."

"Newcastle and West Ham are at the front of the queue but Brighton could also be looking to bring in a midfielder and think they could use European football to tempt some bigger names this summer.”

"Van de Beek’s career at United has been on a knife-edge for a long time."

“Some at the club thought it could be rescued by the arrival of Ten Hag, who got the best out of him at Ajax."

“But it hasn’t worked out that way. Donny just hasn’t settled so he will move in the summer, most likely to Europe where he will look to rebuild and then go again.”
