Man United set to benefit hugely from Juventus 10 points deduction

With the penalty against Juventus now official, Manchester United stands to gain.

With Juventus receiving a 10 point deduction, Italy has taken a significant decision. On Monday night, the Federal Court of Appeals upheld the judgment, according to Sky Sports.

Juventus had originally received a 15 point deduction, which was later overturned, and now only receives a 10 point deduction.

An examination into Juventus' transfer practices led to the penalty. The outcome of the court case may determine Adrien Rabiot's future at Juventus, according to the Italian tabloid Tuttosport over the weekend.

The midfielder's deal with United expires this summer, and according to the French newspaper L'Equipe, manager Erik ten Hag has spoken with Rabiot about a summer transfer.

Juventus hasn't given up trying to persuade him to stay, but their mission has become much more difficult as a result of this 10 point loss.

A loss to Empoli last night was another setback for Juventus, which is now in seventh place in the Serie A standings as a result of the penalty.

They had previously had a Champions League place. They can no longer mathematically place inside the top four places as things stand.

In addition to cost, one of the reasons a deal to get Adrien Rabiot from Manchester United last summer fell through was his inability to play in the Champions League. Prior to finishing third in their group and being eliminated from the Champions League, Juventus did had this the previous year.

Rabiot has been Juventus' lone bright spot this season, scoring a career-high 11 goals from midfield. Despite the uncertainties surrounding the takeover, Rabiot may be a player Manchester United can let go of right away because he will be a free agent, as noted by Athletic journalist David Ornstein via Five.

A top-four finish would have made it simpler for Juventus to attempt to persuade Rabiot to sign a new contract.

Currently, Manchester United is in control, needing just one point from its next two games to guarantee Champions League participation for the upcoming campaign.

Rabiot is probably seen by Manchester United as a more affordable option since Marcel Sabitzer is anticipated to cost in the neighborhood of £20 million.
