Man United reportedly monitoring 16 year old Arsenal ace as Juventus director ends transfer speculations

Erik ten Hag and company appear interested in Ethan Nwaneri, the young sensation at Arsenal, according to reports that Manchester United is eager to raid one of its Premier League rivals.

The Red Devils are allegedly one of several top-flight clubs that are'monitoring' the 16-year-old, according to David Ornstein, who writes a weekly column for The Athletic.

According to the article, a slew of suitors are ready to pounce if the England youth international does not agree to new terms with Arsenal before his schoolboy registration expires next month.

The London-born footballer gained notoriety after making his first-team debut for the Emirates squad against Brentford in September at the age of 15, becoming the league's youngest-ever player to do so.

Young Nwaneri's historic senior debut, as expected, propelled him into the spotlight. In particular, the 5 foot 5 dynamo received high acclaim from senior colleague Granit Xhaka, who described him as "very, very special" and a player with "a big future."

While Mikel Arteta's team will be hoping that the 'future' is in north London, it would be a real coup for United to be able to sign such a talented player from one of their longtime rivals. The promising midfielder has only recently made an impression after scoring for his nation in the current U17 European Championship, bringing his overall total at that age group to eight goals in only 14 appearances.

The playmaker could end up following in the footsteps of Van Persie. The small ace, who has six goals and four assists to his name for Arsenal at the junior level this season, would not be the first highly-rated talent to trade Emirates for the Theatre of Dreams.

Ten Hag will be hoping to repeat the club's brilliant purchase of his countryman back in 2012, when Van Persie left the Emirates to join Sir Alex Ferguson's team for £24 million.

The striker's contentious move, which occurred as his contract with his previous employers was coming to an end, ultimately paid off for both parties as the merciless scorer scored 26 league goals in his debut season in Manchester and propelled the team to the league title.

The former Netherlands international, who was hailed as "unbelievable" by the legendary Ferguson, would go on to score just 22 goals in the top flight over the course of the next two seasons combined before moving to Fenerbahce, though his decision to leave the capital had undoubtedly paid off given his immediate impact.

After the success of Van Persie, it would undoubtedly satisfy the Old Trafford supporters to be able to wrest another high-profile gem from the Gunners, even though it might take some time for the bright kid to make his mark on United's first-team ranks.

Juventus rules out Dušan Vlahović exit

Director Francesco Calvo stated that Juventus has no intention of selling Dusan Vlahovic during the summer transfer season.

Beginning in 2022, the fiercely contested competition for the Serbian, who had previously shone at Fiorentina, was won by the Italian giants.

Given the improvement in quality, Vlahovic has since contributed with 23 goals and six assists from 63 games across all competitions.

Nevertheless, it has recently been asserted that the 23-year-old is unsatisfied at Juventus and that his club is willing to recover the €80 million that they spent on him only 18 months ago.

The player's agency claims Chelsea is interested, although it's unclear whether the Blues have made a formal approach as has been reported.

Vlahovic may cost less than players like Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur and Victor Osimhen of Napoli, therefore Manchester United is reportedly keeping an eye on the situation.

Nevertheless, Calvo claims that when the transfer market reopens in the upcoming weeks, Juventus have no plans to consider any bids for Vlahovic.

"Rumours are not something we can control, but the transfer market hasn't even opened yet." He told to DAZN, as quoted by Football Italia.

"Dusan is not for sale. We are satisfied with the effort he puts in, although everyone in life can do better."

On the same evening that Juventus' Serie A point deduction of 10 points for infractions in their transfer operations was made public, Calvo made his remarks.

Massimiliano Allegri's team plummeted from second to seventh in the standings as a result, eliminating them from contention for the Champions League.

That was also a result of Monday night's unexpected 4-1 loss to Empoli, despite Vlahovic playing the entire 90 minutes without contributing.

Juventus still has a chance to earn a spot in the Europa League for the following season; they currently trail Atalanta BC in fifth position by two points.
