Leicester City names James Maddison's price tag as Glenn Murray issues United advice to Harry Kane

Glenn Murray believes that Harry Kane will not choose to sign with Eddie Howe's Newcastle United and will instead join Erik ten Hag's Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

On BBC Sport, the former Brighton and Hove Albion striker predicted that Kane would stay in the Premier League and join Manchester United at the end of the current campaign.

Murray has remarked that since Manchester City already possesses Erling Haaland, they will no longer wish to sign the £200,000 per week (The Sun) striker.

The BBC Sport analyst explains why the England striker would be better off transferring to Manchester United instead of Newcastle and dismisses Newcastle as an option for him.

“I think Harry Kane will stay in the Premier League," Glenn Murray indicated.

"Ultimately, he will want to break Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record and he can very much do that with his age and how many goals he’s scored."

“I can’t see Man City wanting him now they have got Haaland. I doubt Newcastle would be an option for him so Man Utd are the ones where you think the shoe fits. It’s a huge football club."

“They are on the cusp of coming back to something they used to be. The one thing they miss is that out and out goalscorer which Harry is, but I also think Harry’s got much, much more to give.”

If Harry Kane were to decide to leave Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the current campaign, HITC.com thinks Newcastle United would be an option for him if they place in the top four of the Premier League.

Newcastle is a bigger club than Manchester United, but if Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy does decide to let Kane go, he will sell him to the highest bidder.

The Red Devils might easily be outbid by Newcastle. After all, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia owns them. Although Newcastle's two primary strikers are Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak. But Harry Kane is on an entirely different level, he is regarded as World class.

Man United learns James Maddison's price tag

As Erik ten Hag looks to add more midfield reinforcements, Manchester United is reportedly interested in cashing in on their long-standing interest in James Maddison this summer. However, two Premier League rivals are putting a lot of pressure on the Red Devils to sign the Leicester City playmaker.

Maddison has contributed 39 assists along with 54 goals since moving to the Foxes from Norwich City in a £20 million transfer in 2018.

And United's interest in his services dates all the way back to when Jose Mourinho was a well-known fan during his time at Carrow Road.

Despite Leicester's difficulties, his impressive 2021–2022 season and this season's accomplishments—including nine goals and seven assists—have only stoked interest.

The Telegraph claims that Maddison will leave whether or not Dean Smith leads Leicester to Premier League survival.

Although Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also rumored to be interested in the 26-year-old, Manchester United does.

Eddie Howe is reportedly poised to get strong support from Newcastle once more as he approaches Champions League qualification in his debut season at St. James' Park.

Tottenham is also regarded as a long-time admirer, despite the fact that they are unsure of their head coach for the upcoming season.

According to the report, Leicester is willing to let Maddison go for a transfer fee of between £45 million and £60 million. Leicester is eager to balance the books through player sales at the end of the season after suffering record deficits of £92.5m in their financial accounts earlier this year.

Maddison's sale would make it possible for Smith, or whoever takes over as manager, to rebuild a team that is in disarray as they fight an unexpected relegation.

Given the decline in quality in Ten Hag's midfield without Christian Eriksen, his interest is not surprising.
As he begins the second year of his project at Old Trafford, the Dutchman will seek to improve the technical quality of his side.
