"It was really hard playing against them"- Ruben Neves and Dan Bentley makes major admission after defeat at Old Trafford

Dan Bentley, making his Premier League debut in his team's 2-0 loss against Manchester United, commended Manchester United for their effort.

For Erik ten Hag's team, goals from Anthony Martial and Alejandro Garnacho sealed the victory. After consecutive losses to West Ham United and Brighton, United's victory was fortuitous.

United now has a four-point advantage over the competition for a Champions League spot. After the fight at the King Power Stadium, Liverpool will have played one more game than United, but they can still retaliate on Monday night against Leicester City.

When Wolves goalkeeper Bentley made his Premier League debut against United, it was a proud occasion for him. The 29-year-old was brought in from Bristol City during the January transfer window, and up until the weekend, Jose Sa was given priority.

“I’m really pleased with my individual performance, but it’s always the team performance and the team result that is the most important thing, so we’re all disappointed," he stated.

“But it's nice to show people what I can do. It's not easy for all games to be plain sailing, all games are slightly different, but I pride myself on keeping the ball out the back of the net. That's the first part of goalkeeping and then you have the other things like distribution which you work on as a team to get up the pitch and retain the ball, but making nice saves is always a good thing."

"If I can contribute positively and make saves at the big moments which can keep us in the game then that’s fantastic and it will always give us a chance, but at the same time, we’re obviously disappointed that we didn’t take anything from the game, but credit to Manchester United because they were very good.”

After Manchester United lost at Old Trafford, Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves praised four Manchester United players.

Neves was keen to point out the difficulty of playing against United's midfield following the defeat at Old Trafford. He lauded the caliber of Antony, Christian Eriksen, Jadon Sancho, and Bruno Fernandes.

"With Bruno and Eriksen doing passes and Sancho and Antony running a lot, it's really hard to play against them," he said. "They did the same for the goals, and we knew this before the game, but it's really hard."

"The second goal, we were all up front trying to get a point here and they scored, but the game was like that. We tried to play and they scored the goals at what they are better at."

Ruben Neves is a transfer target for Manchester United, who are aiming to revamp their mid field during the summer but rumors suggests the 26 year old Portuguese is set for Barcelona and the Midland club are ready to listen to the offers from the La Liga Champions.

For Erik ten Hag's team, goals from Anthony Martial and Alejandro Garnacho sealed the victory. After consecutive losses to West Ham and Brighton, United's win was welcome news.

United now has a four-point advantage over the competition for a Champions League spot. After the King Power Stadium match, Liverpool will have played one more game than United, but they may still respond on Monday night at Leicester City.

On Saturday, United will play against Bournemouth in their final away league game of the year. They play Chelsea and Fulham at home to close out their Premier League season.
