Anderlecht starlet warned about Old Trafford move as PSG and Milan eyes Marcus Thuram

According to Bild, Manchester United may face competition from Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan for Marcus Thuram of Borussia Monchengladbach this summer.

The Frenchman's season with Monchengladbach has been spectacular. In just 30 games across all competitions, he has contributed 16 goals and 6 assists.

Bild claims that United is one of the contenders to sign the forward this summer on a free transfer despite the fact that they have been connected with him frequently this year.

When his contract with Monchengladbach expires on June 30, Thuram has already declared his intention to leave the team. Additionally vying for his services are AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.

Thuram began playing regularly on the left wing, but this season, he has only played up front.

This summer, the Red Devils might be interested in him due to his adaptability. Aside from his contributions to goals, he also has a strong work ethic and the capacity to prevail in routine duels.

Thuram wouldn't be a guaranteed starter for United because they are going to buy a star striker, but he would be an improvement over Martial. The Frenchman also has excellent dribbling abilities.

The Red Devils ought to offer him a contract. He currently makes only £53,000 a week in salary. He could be convinced to join United with a significant wage increase.

With the 25-year-old moving to Old Trafford, Martial's future may come into question. He has missed 27 games this season due to injuries, and United may think about trading him.

Anderlecht youngster warned about moving to Man United

Bart Verbruggen, a goalkeeper for Anderlecht who is valued at £15 million, is apparently a target for Manchester United, but Belgium U21 coach Olivier Deschacht questions whether he is actually prepared for the Premier League.

In Belgium, debate regarding Bart Verbruggen's potential future remains polarizing.

There are those who believe the 20-year-old from the Netherlands is deserving of a shot at the highest level after making a splash at Anderlecht, while others worry that he may have achieved too much, too quickly.

“This is a huge step,” argues Olivier Deschacht, assistant coach for the Belgian U21 side. “He’d better take an intermediate step, because the pressure is enormous at a club like Manchester United.”

Het Laaste Nieuws claims that the Red Devils are actively monitoring Verbruggen. He has only been a first-team regular at Anderlecht since Christmas, but in that short period of time, he has advanced tremendously, keeping numerous clean sheets and saving a number of penalties as RCSA advanced to the UEFA Conference League quarterfinals.

If Verbruggen were to sign with United, he would probably start off as David de Gea's backup before eventually taking over for the much criticized Spaniard.

“Maybe they want him as a second keeper,” Deschacht adds Play Sports, via Voetbal Nieuws. “But a goalkeeper like Verbruggen must be playing.

“Of course, I would go if Manchester United came. That is a dream club as a footballer. Who knows, (maybe) Verbruggen is better than De Gea?”

Geert de Vlieger, a former goalkeeper who spent two years at Manchester City in the middle of the 2000s but saw no action, is aware from personal experience that being a backup is not particularly enjoyable.

However, he does add that Verbruggen would have plenty of chances to succeed. When the Europa League, FA, and Carabao Cup are taken into account, Man United will play more than 60 games this season.

“I wasn’t a fan of rotation, but that was in the past,” De Vlieger explains. “Now, you can offer someone like Verbruggen matches in Europe, matches in the FA Cup and the like.”
