YouTuber, Mark Goldridge excited about Napoli's star Man United's link as Erik Ten Hag prepares for summer clearout

According to YouTuber Mark Goldbridge, if Manchester United can sign defender Kim Min-jae in the summer transfer window, he will be "over the moon."

Given that the Red Devils have lately been mentioned in Italian media, it appears that the Napoli player may be on the Premier League club's shopping list this summer.

According to Luca Cerchione, a writer, "He could play elsewhere already next season: Liverpool and Manchester United are on him," he recently told FootballNews24.

Mark Goldridge couldn't contain his excitement as he discussed the idea of Kim joining Man United in the future. He envisions Erik ten Hag being able to alternate between Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, and the present Serie A star, who makes roughly £55k per week.

Talking on a recent episode of The United Stand, the YouTuber explained: “Come on, if we get Kim Min-jae, I'll be over the moon. Because suddenly, you've got Martinez, Varane and Kim Min-jae and you can only pick two."

"I don't care whether we keep Maguire or Lindelof, or both. If you've got Varane, Kim Min-jae and Martinez suddenly Varane is under pressure. And he's one of the best centre-backs in the world and he's under pressure from Kim Min-jae. That's what I want at United.

"Man City have got it. Man City have got Laporte, Diaz, Stones, Ake, Akanji. They've got five good centre-backs there. We've got two..."

"We've got Martinez and we've got Varane and then our third best centre-back is actually a left-back in Luke Shaw. So I would love Kim Min-jae at Manchester United."

Not to dampen Goldbridge's enthusiasm, but the defender recently stated that he is content with Napoli for the time being on the record. He actually stated to the media (via Goal): "As you know, those rumors are not at all true. I want to put my team first. I need to play in a lot of competitions."

"It's been four or years I have had these rumours. It's uncomfortable. I wish you don't spread those stories."

He seems to be solely focused on succeeding with Napoli at the moment, but it appears that he will win Serie A with his team well ahead of the competition, and he may even get a taste of European success with this week's Champions League quarterfinal matchup against AC Milan.

If he succeeds in winning everything in Italy, he might be ready for a fresh challenge in England. Man United supporters can only continue to fantasize for the time being.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag, is reportedly ready to start a mass purge at Old Trafford as the summer transfer window draws near. The Dutchman wants to get rid of the "deadwood" at the team before the upcoming season.

The 53-year-old former head coach of Ajax is apparently trying to purge the present club of the remains of the past managerial eras by mercilessly kicking out a number of first-team stars.

With club captain Harry Maguire allegedly up for grabs and the Red Devils reportedly considering offers for fellow 2019 addition Aaron Wan-Bissaka, it would appear that many of those Ole Solskjaer's recent signings may already be on the scrap heap.

This summer, another of Solskjaer's acquisitions, Alex Telles, who is presently on loan at Sevilla after proving to be a very ineffective addition since his £15.4 million transfer from Porto back in October 2020, may possibly join that pair of exiting players.

With Facundo Pellistri, Edinson Cavani, and Amad Diallo, Telles was one of a group of players signed on the final day of the late summer transfer window. Given the low price tag and his former club's record of 26 goals and 57 assists in 195 games, Telles seemed like a coup at the time.

But in reality, the only genuine benefit that seemed to result from the left-back's arrival to Manchester was the boost it gave to Luke Shaw- the latter acknowledged that the additional "competition" had helped his own game, and he finished that season of 2020–21 as the club's Players’ Player of the Year.

After making just nine Premier League appearances in his first season, Telles went on to play a much larger role the following year after making 21 appearances in the top level, most notably scoring the club's lone goal in the Champions League comeback victory over Villarreal.

Despite getting more playing time, the 5 foot 11 ineffective failed to make an impression from his full-back position; at the end of previous season, writer Casey Evans called him "genuinely awful."

The 11-cap menace's chances of improving under Ten Hag appeared to be over last summer when United signed Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord, and Telles had also been used just as a temporary center-back option during preseason.

The 30-year-old, who had just over a year left on his original contract back at the Theatre of Dreams, was sent to Spain on a season-long loan after it became evident that he was surplus to requirements under the new manager.

As said above, the top-four contenders do appear prepared to try and offload the former Inter Milan player this summer, however it is doubtful that they will be able to recuperate a sizable money given that, according to Cies Football Observatory; the player is currently only worth $5 million.

That is roughly £10 million less than what Solskjaer and company paid for the defender just under three years ago, and it is clear that the decision now appears to have been a major oversight on the parts of the Norwegian and the United board.

Even so, that low price tag shouldn't prevent Ten Hag and company from making a profit at the end of the campaign, with the expectation that Telles won't give the La Liga team an early "gift" by leading them past the Red Devils in the Europa League quarterfinals.
