According to reports, Rico Browne, a promising player for Birmingham City, is a target for Tottenham Hotspur. They will be in a battle for the young, promising defender with Manchester United in the Premier League, according to a Football Insider report.
The 19-year-old was previously courted by Tottenham, but the player turned down their offer. It will be interesting to see if the North London powerhouses can persuade the gifted young defender to accept their offer this time.
Rico Browne is well-regarded in England and has a bright future. He might end up being a valuable long-term addition to the Tottenham team.
He probably won't start right away for the North London team, but He might play a big role on their youth squad and soon break out to be a star for the first team.
There is no reason why they cannot entice the 19-year-old in the summer if they can give them the proper assurances and a clear pathway to the first team.
Any young player would undoubtedly find the chance to play for a major Premier League team appealing, and Browne would also be persuaded.
Manchester United, meanwhile, is a larger organization with more funding. In addition, manager Erik ten Hag has a track record from his time at Ajax of developing young players into established stars.
It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils can beat out Tottenham and retain the services of the 19-year-old in the near future.
Tony Mowbray tips Amad Diallo to make big money move.
Amad Diallo, who is on loan from Manchester United, has received some comment from Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray. The 20-year-old is on loan with the Tyneside Black Cats for the current campaign and is winning over the hearts of both sets of supporters.
Amad has also been praised for his stellar play across the division and has been nominated for Championship Young Player of the Season. He scored his 12th goal of the year with an incredible long-range strike against Birmingham City yesterday, giving Sunderland an important three points.
Erik ten Hag will have to make a crucial choice this summer when the Ivorian returns to Old Trafford as a result.
As a regular starter this season, Amad Diallo will be eager to play frequently for the first squad and won't want to be restricted to the bench. There are many talented offensive possibilities for United, therefore it is unclear if the manager will be able to give him that.
In response, Tony Mowbray stated that it is "pretty unlikely" that the young player will be returned to the Stadium of Light for a second loan period.
“I have a good feeling for Amad that if he’s not back at United he will go for big, big money to a top Spanish team. He loves football and wants to play so what do you do if you are at Manchester United? Are you happy just to be a Manchester United player and play six sub appearances and two starts over a season of 60 games for them? Or do you want to go out and play?" he said on Mirror.
“So are they going to sell him? If they do they will want to recoup their money which was reputedly 40 [million] euros or whatever it was. The reality is he won’t be coming here, in my mind, unless they think he is going to be one hell of a player and needs to play, or he enjoys Sunderland and should keep going to play for them."
“That would be the ideal scenario for us. Pretty unlikely I would suggest, but you never know because if they see him as genuinely someone who can play in their first team down the line they could keep him on board."
“I would suggest they would try him at another level and he’d go (on loan) to the Premier League, or go back to Italy or Seria A or Spain. But let’s hope he is playing at Sunderland and banging in goals. There is a better chance if we are in the Premier League, he is playing against Premier League teams.”
