Ten Hag's Oshimen ambitions revealed as Ryan Gravenberch agrees personal terms with Liverpool

Journalist for The Athletic Football Jon Mackenzie has revealed that the goalkeeper Victor Osimhen of Napoli is the target of Manchester United's pursuit because of manager Erik ten Haag. Victor Osimhen has drawn interest from Manchester United as a result of his outstanding performances for Napoli over the past 12 months.

The Super Eagles star is poised to become the first African to get the Paolo Rossi Award for the 2022–2023 season after earning the Serie A Best Young Player of the Year award last year.

The Napoli striker has 21 goals thus far, seven more than Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan, who is his closest rival with 14 goals. Osimhen has scored 26 goals for the Naples-based team in all competitions.

On The Athletic Football Podcast, Mackenzie discussed the motivation behind Erik ten Hag's desire to sign Osimhem for Manchester United.

"This is going to be the big question, which team has that 100m pounds available because the rumours have always circulated around him going to Manchester United," Mackenzie said.

"There are a lot of reasons for that because we know that Erik ten Hag likes a striker in that kind of mould.

"He has used traditional 9s apart from when he has played a little bit of underdog football in the UEFA Champions League and Victor Osimhen is obviously the perfect prototype for him."

In order to sign the Nigerian striker, Manchester United will have to compete with other English powerhouses Chelsea, Bundesliga heavyweight Bayern Munich, and French Ligue 1 defending winners PSG.

Ryan Gravenberch agrees personal terms with Liverpool

Ryan Gravenberch, a transfer target for Manchester United, has had productive transfer talks with Liverpool, a Premier League rival.

The midfielder has reportedly reached a personal agreement with Jurgen Klopp's team and is now anticipated to join the club in the summer, according to The Mirror.

After only one season with the defending German champions, Gravenberch is relieved to depart Bayern Munich at the end of the current campaign.

"After taxes, Gravenberch earns £100,000 every week in Germany. In order to match such terms, Liverpool would have to offer him a deal for £200,000 per week.

“But those figures were not deemed to be an issue when the Merseysiders spoke to Gravenberch’s advisers in Amsterdam last Wednesday.

“And Liverpool are hoping that Bayern will do business if they can recoup the £16.3 million they paid Ajax last summer,” the report stated.

The Dutchman, a graduate of the esteemed Ajax youth program, and his potential reunion with former Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag have been linked.

However, Liverpool beat Ten Hag's team to the punch, and the 20-year-old is now ready to join United's greatest rivals.

Given that they occasionally struggled in the middle of the field during the current season, United is believed to be on the market for midfield reinforcements this summer.

End of January saw the signing of Marcel Sabitzer to an urgent loan agreement, highlighting Ten Hag's requirement for bodies in the park's heart. The future of Sabitzer's loan, which expires at the end of the current campaign, is still up in the air.

Gravenberch might have benefited if the club had decided not to keep the Austrian.

By going to Anfield, Gravenberch effectively eliminates Liverpool from Jude Bellingham's consideration.

This summer, Bellingham is the top target for a number of elite European teams, and United is one of those looking to persuade the youngster to join their ranks.

As Ten Hag plans United's path back to the top of English football, whomever enters Old Trafford in the summer will be entrusted with launching a credible title charge in 2019.

Meanwhile, Manchester United and the AS Monaco defender have been heavily connected, with sources claiming the Reds might pay €40 million to acquire the 25-year-old this summer.

Another Premier League suitor has expressed interest in the situation, but the France international might have other plans.

According to Sport Witness, French writer Ignazio Genuardi revealed West Ham's interest on Tuesday via Twitter.

The tall center-back is being 'watched extremely closely' by West Ham, who have reportedly made trips to see him'several times' in recent months, according to Genuardi.

The France international, though, has plans to join a bigger club in the summer, which is a setback for West Ham because they are aware of David Moyes' affection.

Axel Disasi and his agents will take caution not to reject any proposals too quickly. An impulsive decision can force them to close doors they don't want to yet.

Even while his statistics at center-back are, to put it mildly, remarkable, there is no guarantee that United will knock. In 42 games for Monaco this season, Disasi has six goals and four assists.

In the event that either Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelof decide to depart at the end of the season, Disasi might step in as a substitute.

In other news, Manchester United is constantly searching for the brightest prospects to join their outstanding academy.

Two United scouts reportedly watched the 15-year-old forward play on Monday, according to Football Insider.

According to sources speaking to Football Insider, Manchester United dispatched two senior scouts to watch Birmingham City sensation Trevan Sanusi on Monday night.

The Premier League elite are keeping an eye on the 15-year-old center forward after he turned down scholarship offers from Championship clubs.

Sanusi, who turns 16 next week, intends to leave Birmingham. United, who intends to make a bid for the growing star in the coming weeks after being greatly impressed by his exploits, has been made aware of Sanusi's contract rejection.

The teenager, who has represented England at the Under-16 and Under-15 levels, is thought to be being pursued by London powerhouses Chelsea and Arsenal.

Sanusi is the subject of intense pressure from Chelsea, who hope to outbid other teams for his services.

Scouts from Premier League teams have kept a careful eye on the youngster during youth team games, and they have given their hiring departments nothing but positive feedback.

Sanusi is a dynamic forward who can play either out wide or in the center of the attack. Numerous teams see the Birmingham prospect as a potential star because of how prolific a scorer and creator he has been for his age group level.
