Manchester United's possible starting eleven against Newcastle United as top four race turns dog fight

Manchester United has three Premier League fixtures in just seven days after returning from the break.

Prior to their games against Brentford and Everton the following week, the Red Devils have a challenging journey to Newcastle United on Sunday. By winning their last two games, the Magpies have recovered from a string of poor performances and once again appear to be in contention for a top-four finish.

Erik ten Hag won't consider switching up his lineup because of the match's importance, despite his upcoming extremely hectic schedule. Despite both players picking up injuries recently, the Dutchman expressed optimism that Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial will be ready before the game.

Despite suffering a knee injury while serving with the international team, Marcel Sabitzer ought to be accessible as well. Since the defender participated in United's practice on Thursday, Ten Hag is likely to have him as a choice at St James' Park.

Raphael Varane is the only significant question mark after the defender missed the final match before the international break—a 3-1 win over Fulham—due to a minor injury. Since then, Ten Hag hasn't provided an update on the Frenchman, who wasn't visible in this week's club exercise videos.

While Christian Eriksen, Donny van de Beek, and Alejandro Garnacho are hurt, Casemiro is suspended and unable to play.

Ten Hag will have a lot of decisions to make for the game on Sunday, including who begins at right-back and how to handle Casemiro's absence.

Here is the starting lineup that we anticipate Ten Hag to choose this weekend.

Defense

David De Gea will obviously start between the sticks, Raphael Varane and Linsandro Martinez pair up as the center backs. Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will take up full back roles.

Mid Field

Erik Ten Hag could start Scott McTominay as Fred's mid field partner as Marcel Sabitzer just recovered from a knock a got on international break. Bruno Fernandes will start in his usual Attacking mid field role.

Attack

Wout Weghorst will spearhead the attack but will be expected to make way for  Anthony Martial. Marcus Rashford and Antony will both flank the Dutch striker.
