Man United opens talks with Brighton mid fielder as World Cup goal keeper's release clause is set to be met

In order to sign the Argentine, Manchester United has spoken with the midfielder Alexis Mac Allister's representatives.

The 24-year-old has had an outstanding season with the Seagulls, scoring ten goals in 31 games this year.

The midfielder was a significant contributor to Argentina's World Cup-winning team in December, and Erik ten Hag reportedly was impressed by his efforts in Qatar.

Given the team's reliance on Bruno Fernandes and the effects of Christian Eriksen's absence, the Dutchman wants to infuse his midfield with more inventiveness.

In November, Mac Allister renewed his contract with the Seagulls, and Brighton is renowned for being a skilled negotiator.

United are prepared to test the waters, according to Fabrizio Romano, and have already spoken with Mac Allister's representatives.

Man United ready to meet world cup star release clause

Meanwhile, Dominik Livakovic, a goalkeeper for Croatia, is available for transfer, and Manchester United is willing to meet his €10 million (£8.8 million) release clause.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper was one of the stars of the 2022 World Cup, advancing his nation to the semifinals in Qatar with the help of his heroics in penalty shootouts against Brazil and Japan.

According to Croatian source Sportske Jutarnji, United want to sign the Dinamo Zagreb star this summer and see his release clause as 'no problem.' The player will reach the final year of his contract this summer.

David de Gea, the current United goalkeeper, is nearing the end of his current contract at Old Trafford. The club is in talks to offer him a new deal with less favorable terms, even if United has the option to extend that by another year. With an estimated weekly salary of £350,000, the Spaniard is one of the club's highest earners.

Recent sources indicate the transaction is nearly completed, although United also seems interested in signing Livakovic.

Real Sociedad, Villarreal, and Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray are reportedly interested in signing him, giving United competition for his services.

In the past, his signature has also been associated with Leicester and Nottingham Forest.

This summer, United's main goals are to add a new center forward and a midfielder, but they are also keeping an eye out for a long-term replacement for David de Gea.

Diogo Costa of Porto has been a target for the team this year, along with David Raya of Brentford and Robert Sanchez of Brighton.

Last Thursday, De Gea had a disastrous evening as United lost 3-0 to Sevilla, causing them to easily advance to the semifinals of the Europa League.

In Sunday's FA Cup semi-final against Brighton, the 32-year-old made several crucial stops, but was once again criticized for how he fared in the penalty shootout. Until Solly March blasted his attempt over the bar, he was unable to get near any of the Seagulls' six successful penalty kicks.

Even though Jack Butland joined United on loan from Crystal Palace during the January transfer window, Rangers is still interested in signing him this summer.
