(Video) The moment Real Betis fans clashed with riot police during Europa League match at Old Trafford

Thursday night wasn't all about Manchester United's players winning 4-1 today to bounce back from a disappointing loss over the weekend.

While Erik Ten Hag was leading his boys to put Manuel Pellegrini's Real Betis to the sword on the pitch at Old Trafford, the traveling fans on the away end created a scenario by clashing with the police.

In the closing stages of the game, at the moment Wout Weghorst was all drowned in an emotional celebration after netting Man United's fourth goal of the night to kill off the game, Real Betis fans appeared to be riled up by the Dutchman's wild celebration.

Tempers flared as the traveling fans tried to move into the home section, but riot police were swift to create a wall between the two sides. The aggressive Real Betis fans threw bottles and even chairs at the home fans. The Athletic reported that a Real Betis fan was spotted ripping out a riot police belt and aiming it at Manchester United's fan section.

The Daily Mail claimed the riot police were able to calm things down as Manchester United ran out 4-1 winners and got into a commanding position ahead of the return leg in Spain.

According to The Star four Real Betis fans have been arrested by the Greater Manchester Police in connection with the fracas on Thursday night at Old Trafford.
