Victor Lindelöf doesn't seem to be enjoying his time at Manchester United much these days, as Erik ten Hag frequently prefers to pair Raphael Varane with Lisandro Martnez.
The Swedish player has spent the last five seasons at Old Trafford and likely expected to be a first-team regular by this time, but that isn't the case.
The 29-year-old has made 21 appearances for Manchester United this season across all categories, but many of those have seen him start off the bench.
The center-back, who is currently on international duty with Sweden, was asked about his present situation with the Red Devils and whether he was "frustrated," and he answered honestly.
He said, relayed by Fotbollskanalen: “Yes, of course. You want to play every game, but I haven’t done that this season. Of course, you want to play matches, but there haven’t been as many. That’s why I play football, to play matches."
“But right now, I want to focus on the national team and on ending the season well with Manchester United. Then we’ll see what’s best.”
When the Manchester United defender was questioned about recent transfer rumors that were supposedly trying to get him out of Old Trafford, he made it clear that it wasn't something he was thinking about right now, preferring to concentrate on the present rather than the future at this time.
Seria A giants Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing the center back as they look to replenish their defensive options next summer.
