Sunday's game at Anfield exposes alot of our weakness. Aside the fact that we have played 11 games in the last 31 days, we have no excuse whatsoever.
Liverpool are a team that press so well and we couldn't beat their press. We had no one to carry the ball out of tight spaces, Fred couldn't do it, Sabitzer couldn't do it, Mctominay couldn't do it.
I might sound too reactionary but we need 2-3 midfielders and I will prioritize 2 centre midfielder and Frenkie De Jong the key target or still snap up Jude Bellingham.
The technical security of our midfield today was horrible infact has been horrible and we were exposed today. Casemiro has been saving that midfield but today he wasn't fully fit at some point he was limping. We are just one Case injury away from having our whole season crumbling.
We have really been showing resilience and a winning attitude over the past week, and trust me I didn't expect us to be this good in Eric's first season but the lapses are there for all to see. If we need to sell a RB, It should be Diogo Dalot . His defensive capability is zero and his attacking input isn't even convincing at all. I prefer to have Bisaka in this team right now.
Antony Santos needs to be sent to Sahara dessert together with Jadon sancho 7 . They aren't even providing any healthy competition for the RW whatsoever. @Antony Santos gets one curl in every 10 matches and that's all. Jadon Sancho get dispossessed easily, doesn't track back and can't even beat a man with ease.
We need a centre forward cum next season. Werghorst isn't that guy, Anthony Martial is chilling with the medical team and Marcus Rashford has really carried us for weeks now. We need someone to support him in the goal scoring duties.
Overall, we met a team who exposes our blushes both physically and tactically.
I hope we really do get De Jong, his technical ability to remain calm under pressure and beat opposition press is so so unique. Sabitzer doesn't offer that, he is more like a Fred type of player but with good passing and ball striking ability. We need midfielders to dictate possession, not midfielders that give the ball away and start chasing it back.
I trust the Eric Ten Hag process regardless.
