Newcastle United reportedly considering Harry Maguire's loan move amid Paris Saint Germain interest

Manchester United's captain Harry Maguire has been linked with a move to Newcastle United, while Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly showing interest in the 30-year-old.

The England international has lost his place in Manchester United's line-up to Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez under Erik Ten Hag's management. Despite his classic display with the England national team at the World Cup, the former Leicester City man is unable to convince Erik Ten Hag that he should be a regular starter for the Red Devils.

There were games when Erik Ten Hag even chose to play left back Luke Shaw in the heart of the defense alongside Raphael Varane while Harry Maguire languished on the team's bench.

According to chroniclelive, Teamtalk has named West Ham as an interested party as rumors of the England international's potential exit continue to intensify ahead of the summer transfer window.

Despite the impressive campaign that both Sven Botman and Fabian Schar have enjoyed for Eddie Howe's Newcastle United, chroniclelive claims that the Tyneside club are interested in snapping up Harry Maguire.

Paris Saint-Germain are also sniffing around the possibility of getting the 30-year-old next summer. Manchester United wants to sell their £80 million signing from Leicester City, but Newcastle United are reportedly interested in a loan deal as a result of the defender's high wage demands. However, the deal will include a buy option in the contract.

Harry Maguire has also explained that his inability to break back into the team is down to Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez's form, but stated in an interview after the Red Devils' Carabao Cup triumph at Wembley that Erik Ten Hag has always given him confidence.

"I think he has been asked numerous times about my role in interviews, and he tells me honestly; he believes in me, but this is football," he stated at full time in Wembley Stadium.

"The lads who are playing and starting, Rapha, are playing really well, and we have seen his ideas, the manager, and what he wants, and he does like a left-footed center-back playing, so no, it’s high competition for places."

"This is Manchester United."  "We want to win trophies, and big trophies, and to do that you need competition for places, and the manager speaks to me daily, and he really respects me and believes that I am a top center-half with all the attributes to play in his team, but he also understands that the players who are playing—and I understand that the players who are playing—are playing very well."
