MEN journalist Samuel Luckhurst, sparks outrage on social media with his Twitter post on Anthony Taylor

It appears the football world, especially fans of the English Premier League, are not happy with Casemiro's sending off during the 0-0 draw at Old Trafford against Southampton in last weekend's Premier League fixture.

Manchester Evening News Journalist Samuel Luckhurst has shared a screenshot of his Twitter post where he scrutinized Anthony Taylor's inconsistency as well as the decision to give Casemiro a matching order despite getting in contact with the ball first while attempting a tackle. Alejandro Garnacho was a victim of the said type of tackle in the second half of the encounter, which eventually saw him exit the game early despite just coming in as a substitute in the second half.

Manchester United were also denied a clear penalty after Kyle Walker-Peters made contact with the ball with his hands.

In the post, Samuel Luckhurst pointed out that Anthony Taylor was responsible for shifting Manchester United's wall during their 3-1 defeat against Aston Villa last November, a set piece from which the Villans scored.

Manchester United have ruled out appealing for the red card, but it appears the Man United versus Southampton matchday 26 referee might be called to defend himself as intense debates regarding how he managed the game on Sunday have continued online.

Fans have been venting out their frustrations about the Greater Manchester born Anthony Taylor,

"What did they expect from Anthony Taylor? Ask anyone from Chelsea. Guy is a head case. And always biased," Denis Capra wrote.

"He has every right to do so,a referee with no consistency, not the first time either, the standard is getting worse, why?it’s not only with United but across the board, referees do influence games and are so biased at times, there spoiling the great game off football," Mary Hayhoe wrote

Another fan Wayne P Howes commented "Worst ref in the league by far"

Tamunaido Rajanah called out the Premier League referring body directly with his comment "What action is the FA or EPL going to initiate on the reffrees poor attitude reffreeing? We fans want answers."
