Man United's team news: No Christian Eriksen as Anthony Martial and others train ahead of Newcastle United's clash

With Marcel Sabitzer spotted participating in first team activity, Manchester United is expected to receive a significant injury lift. Due to an injury, Marcel Sabitzer missed Austria's second Euro 2024 qualifying match this week.

Fortunately, it appears that the break was only preventative, as the Austrian returned to first team practice at Carrington on Thursday.

Following his first-ever goal for Manchester United just before halftime in the FA Cup quarterfinal, Sabitzer had scored two goals and provided an assist in Austria's opening qualification game. The news that Marcel Sabitzer is back in the gym in time for this Sunday's Premier League game against Newcastle is encouraging.

Due to Casemiro's absence from the game, Sabitzer is greatly valued. Christian Eriksen, who is soon to make a comeback, was not included in the photo. Given that he recently received the team's player of the month honor, Bruno Fernandes is anticipated to lead Manchester United against Newcastle from the opening kickoff.

Then, two of the three—Fred, Marcel Sabitzer, and Scott McTominay—will be chosen.

United plays two home games against Brentford and then Everton after the Newcastle encounter.

With three games in a row, United will evaluate Sabitzer's fitness for the Newcastle game after carefully monitoring him upon his return to training and taking into account the two subsequent games.

Anthony Martial trained along with the rest of the squad but Erik Ten Hag will provide further needed update concerning the France international during his press conference ahead of Newcastle United's game.
