Mason Greenwood learns return date after fresh meeting with club officials as United continues investigation

According to reports, Mason Greenwood has been informed that he won't be able to rejoin Manchester United until at least the following campaign. After charges of rape and assault against Greenwood were withdrawn in February, the Premier League club's management is still looking into whether the striker can keep playing.

In January 2022, the 21-year-old was detained and accused. The England international was promptly suspended by United with full pay. However, after important witnesses withdrew from the probe, the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charges in February. United has continued to suspend Greenwood while the team performs an internal inquiry.

The United academy alumnus has reportedly been informed that he won't practice with the first team again until at least next season. There is apparently disagreement among the club staff regarding whether or not they should permit him to make a comeback.

Greenwood has spoken with United about his future, according to the Daily Mail. The story also states that there is disagreement among staff members regarding whether to allow him back into the club.

It has been reported that Mason Greenwood has informed Manchester United that he wishes to play for them again as soon as possible as reported by Mirror.

Additionally, Mason Greenwood appears to have made it abundantly obvious to United that he wants to get back into action as soon as possible and demonstrate his commitment to the Old Trafford team, according to the Daily Mail. However, in response, United said that the investigation wouldn't be finished until the conclusion of the current campaign.

Thus, if Mason Greenwood remained at the organization, his next season of training would not begin until the summer. This is all, according to reports, the result of in-depth discussions with club executives who are said to be divided over the subject.

Staff members on the football side are said to believe that Greenwood should be allowed another chance. Some marketing staff members reportedly think that Greenwood's potential return could harm the club's image.

After the accusations first surfaced, Greenwood's contracts with Nike, EA Sports, and Cadbury were all terminated. He was then eliminated from the computer games Football Manager and FIFA.
