Paul Parker, a former player for Manchester United, believes that Erik ten Hag should let go of Jadon Sancho to create room for Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma.
After becoming a consistent starter under Roberto De Zerbi, Mitoma has been among the finest attackers in the Premier League this season.
In 16 league games since Graham Potter was replaced by an Italian, the Japanese international has tallied six goals and provided four assists.
Jadon Sancho is still finding his footing while Kaoru Mitoma has lit up English Premier League.
The England attacker was acquired by United for a staggering £72.9 million from Borussia Dortmund in June 2021, but he has fallen short of expectations. Jadon Sancho had an outstanding experience in Germany, and the Red Devils pursued his signature for more than a year.
However, those results in the Bundesliga did not carry over to the Premier League.
Despite the fact that Sancho is only 23 years old, many United supporters have no confidence in him and one former United player who appears to have given up confidence in the former Dortmund player is Paul Parker.
Paul Parker believes Jadon Sancho should be the one sacrificed if Ten Hag decides to acquire Kaoru Mitoma from Brighton, according to his comments to MyBettingSites.
“Mitoma gave Trent-Alexander Arnold a very bad time but to be fair, a lot of people have done that,” Parker said. “I really like him."
“He is very direct and he wants to go on the outside of his opponent, which is a rarity in today’s football. No defender wants that and he is very good at that."
“Mitoma would also be a very good PR signing. To see a Japanese player at Man United would be a huge story.”
"I would love to see him at Man United but then they have to offload some of their wingers and they could start with getting rid of Jadon Sancho."
“I would rather have Mitoma in the squad than him," he continued.
“He has proven himself in the Premier League and I doubt that Sancho will ever do that. I think he should go back to Germany and play in his comfort zone where he is best."
“But if he comes to the club Man United needs to figure out what to do with Rashford, who is best at the left wing. But that’s a luxury problem to have two good wingers," Paul Parker explained.
The former Manchester United's defender believes that Ten Hag should stay away from Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona if he plans to add another winger.
Paul Parker fired shots at Trent Alexander-Arnold before turning his gun on Antony as he harshly evaluated Ousmane Dembele.
“No, I would definitely not want to have Ousmane Dembele at Man United,” he explained. “He is always injured and he hasn’t proved himself at a big club.
“He did well at Dortmund but hasn’t done it at Barcelona yet, so he is not a player that I would want."
“I don’t think he is better than the wingers they already have and that says a lot about him because it isn’t the most difficult thing to be better than Jadon Sancho and Antony."
“He is predictable and I have to say no to him at Man United. Wherever he goes, the manager needs to make him into a different animal than what he is now.”
