Antony sends Casemiro emotional Instagram message as Erik Ten Hag slams Anthony Taylor for poor officiation

Manchester United's winger Antony has sent a message of encouragement to teammate Casemiro, who was sent off after a challenge on Southampton's Carlos Alcaraz. The Red Devils had to play 60 minutes with a man down after the Brazilian was given his marching orders.

The Red Devils dominated the opening minutes of the first half, searching for the first goal until Casemiro's tackle on Carlos Alcaraz was deemed to be worth a red card. Although match-day referee Anthony Taylor issued the 31-year-old a yellow card for his clumsy tackle, his attention was drawn by VAR to have a closer look before overturning the yellow card to a red card.

It influenced the game as Manchester United lost their rhythm while Southampton were able to find their feet for the rest of the game, holding the Red Devils to a goalless draw.

Casemiro was physically annoyed as he understood the consequences of the red card. He had to be consoled by his teammates, especially countryman Antony Santos.

The 23-year-old winger took to his social media handle to show support for the midfielder, who is bound to miss the next four of Manchester United's domestic fixtures, including their FA Cup tie against Fulham.

"We will always be together, brother." "Raise your head; we have a lot ahead of us." Casemiro's suspension won't impact next week's Europa League game, so he will be available for the second leg vs. Real Betis.

Manchester United's manager is however unhappy with Casemiro's sending off and has slammed Anthony Taylor for his poor performance as a match day official.

"Casemiro played over 500 games in Europe and never once got a red card." Now he has two in the Premier League. His absence is not the issue. We will deal with that. "This game was influenced by the referee," he told Sky Sports.

Meanwhile, the draw leaves Manchester United in third place with 50 points, 16 points behind first-place Arsenal and 9 points behind second-place Manchester City.
