Manchester United's striker Mason Greenwood has reportedly met in person with Manchester United's management as part of the club's internal investigation being conducted with regards to his release by the Crown Prosecution Service.
Mason Greenwood had his charges against him dropped earlier in 2023. The 21-year-old was arrested in 2022 and charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault against his girlfriend, Harriet Robson.
The England international has had those charges against him dropped but was still serving his ban from Manchester United. The club imposed a suspension on him following his arrest and has yet to lift it despite his release.
However, Manchester United announced they will be embarking on an internal investigation before they decide the 21-year-old's fate.
The procedures for the investigation appear to have commenced, as SUN reports claim that Mason Greenwood has held his first face-to-face meeting with senior officials at the club.
As claimed by Manchester United's People, the striker and his representative met with the club's senior officials before the Red Devils' Europa League clash with Barcelona last Thursday, as the club bid to hear Mason Greenwood's side of the story before conclusions about the next steps are made.
"The striker and his representatives met with senior club officials as part of its internal investigation into the allegations against him,” the report mentioned to SUN.
Mason and his team met with the club to start the process of trying to get to the bottom of exactly what may or may not have happened.
“It is an extremely sensitive situation, and the club thinks it is only fair that Mason is given the opportunity to fully explain himself."
“The club is keen to hear his version of events. "Only when they have the full picture can they start to move things forward," the report stated.
Harriet Robson's pregnancy
Mason Greenwood's girlfriend is allegedly pregnant with the Manchester United star. A close source to the couple claims that the families of the lovebirds are looking forward to welcoming a new member of the family.
