Team injury updates and predicted lineup against West Ham in the next round of the FA Emirates Cup

Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has revealed that Man United duo Fred and Luke Shaw are doubts for Wednesday's FA Cup clash with West Ham at Old Trafford.

Versatile defender Luke Shaw and the energetic Fred played all of the Red Devils' games during the month of February, but the manager has revealed both could miss the FA Cup fixture against David Moyes' West Ham.

He as well ruled out Anthony Martial's return to the team. The striker last appeared during Manchester United's 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup, coming off the bench to score in the second half.

"Of course, yesterday [Monday], the players were still enthusiastic, and they had to celebrate this momentum," said Ten Hag at his pre-match press conference. But yesterday, after we settled down, we got back to work. "What we had to do was recover, and the ones who played less did a good training session."

"Anthony Martial is not available, and Luke Shaw and Fred are questions for tomorrow [Wednesday]," confirmed the manager.

Donny Van De Beek is expected to return next season, while Christian Eriksen is making progress as he is set to return in March. The Denmark international appeared on his boots as he celebrated the Carabao Cup's success with the rest of the team last Sunday at Wembley.

David Moyes also gave an injury update concerning his squad ahead of their trip to Old Trafford; two first-team players are already ruled out due to injuries. Michail Anthonio is set to return to the starting lineup for the Hammers. Maxwel Cornet and Kurt Zouma are doubtful, while Alphonse Areola is expected to start between the sticks.

"We've got a squad available and ready to go," said ex-Reds boss Moyes. "But we've got a few injuries." I think that [Fabianski and Coufal] are really the two injuries we had over the weekend. Apart from that, the squad is just about what it was."

"We're actually waiting on a couple of boys who have got knocks as well." It's a very quick turnaround. If you look at our fixtures, it's difficult when you have to go to Old Trafford on a Wednesday and then we're away to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday. "This one getting fitted in makes it a little more awkward."

Possible Manchester United starting eleven

Defense

David De Gea created history last Sunday as the goalkeeper with the highest number of clean sheets for Manchester United. However, it will be expected of him to be rested to stay fresh for the trip to Anfield for the next Premier League fixture, and Tom Heaton is expected to start.

Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof should start at the heart of defense while the duo of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez rest. Diogo Dalot and Tyler Malacia should start at fullback.

Mid field

One change is expected in the midfield, where Marcel Sabitzer is expected to start alongside Casemiro with Bruno Fernandes completing them.

Attack

Marcus Rashford is expected to start in the striker's position while Jadon Sancho starts on the right and Antony retains his place on the left flank.
