Manchester United like the rest of the Premier League team's have submitted their list of players for the rest of the 2022/2023 campaign and it includes 21 year old Mason Greenwood.
After the allegations against the 21-year-old were dropped, Mason Greenwood was added to Manchester United's most recent Premier League squad roster.
Today (Thursday, February 2), Greater Manchester Police declared that the football player's criminal case had been closed. The forward was accused of trying to rape the same woman, acting in a dominating and abusive manner, and assaulting her.
Man United and Mason Greenwood both issued statements on the same day confirming that the team would look internally to "consider next steps" after the incident.
Since then, the player has been included to the team's updated Premier League roster list for the remaining 2022–2023 campaign. Following the conclusion of the January transfer window, Premier League teams are expected to publish their amended roster list. His picture has also been reposted on the club's official website.
Greenwood's final match for United took place on January 22 against West Ham. On January 30, a week later, he was arrested, and the club has subsequently suspended him.
Since making his first-team debut in 2019, the striker has tallied 35 goals in 129 appearances for the team, in addition to 12 assists.
Mason Greenwood will however continue to miss training sessions and games as the Red Devils conduct their own investigation, the club announced on Thursday.
"Manchester United notes the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped.
"The club will now conduct its own process before determining next steps. We will not make any further comment until that process is complete," Man United's short statement read.
Mason Greenwood also released a short statement, which read: "I am relieved that this matter is now over and I would like to thank my family, loved ones and friends for their support.
"There will be no further comment at this time."
