Man United's loanee Will Fish earns Hibernian manager Lee Johnson's praise following goal and brilliant performance

Manchester United's loanee Will Fish has found the back of the net in Hibernian's 2-0 victory over Kilmarnock at Easter Road on Saturday afternoon.

Will Fish and Matthew Hope scored a goal in each half of the encounter to give the hosts a comfortable win against Kilmarnock.

Hibernian's manager Lee Johnson has heaped praise on his side's dominating win and singled out Will Fish and three other players for playing vital roles in the team's victory.

“It was very satisfying, and I’m very pleased with the professionalism of the players," he stated after the win. "

“I thought we started great on the front foot, and there was some wonderful interplay, if not the finish at all times, but that’s the next step for the team."

“We were certainly solid behind the ball with Will Fish, Paul Hanlon, Marsh, and CJ and Jeggo in front of them securing the middle of the pitch, and that allowed everyone else to go and be creative." "There were some really good patterns of play," he told his TV.

The manager further claimed he is impressed with the defense, which has conceded no goals in three of their last four matches.

“We’ve got to be obsessed with the clean sheets because we have to play with that structure, that solidarity, and everyone has to put their body on the line."

“You could see the effort from CJ at the end of the game; we could’ve quite easily conceded and then seen out the last 30 seconds, but no, he was on the line, putting his body on the line, making sure he was mothering the goal."

“I was delighted with the clean sheet, and I know the back four or five were as well," he explained.

Hibernian are now unbeaten in their last six matches and have moved up to the fourth spot on the Scottish Premiership table, and Lee Johnson believes confidence is brewing within the squad.

“I want more options, of course, and I’ll get that when the injured players come back, but a manager will always tell you that." "We've got to keep making decisions for the short, medium, and long term for the football club, and the boys have to bring their A game."

“I’m proud of everyone for coming through the difficult spell, certainly against the odds because there were some that didn’t believe in us," he added.

"We thank the ones that did, and hopefully, these performances are repaying some of those bad times," Lee Johnson stated.

Manchester United's loanee Will Fish has started enjoying his time with the Scottish side after being unable to get as many minutes under his belt as he would have wanted when he decided to join Hibernian to get first-team experience.

He has finally gotten a total playing time of 522 minutes and has registered two goals while helping to keep four clean sheets in the process.
