Man United jets out for Europa League clash with two academy players but 7 senior players miss out

Manchester United's squad list traveling to Spain for their Europa League clash with Barcelona has been released.

Pictures of the Red Devils boarding the team bus to the airport have been circulating the internet, and there were some notable absentees.

Anthony Santos, Anthony Martial, and Scott McTominay were not with the team; the trio has already been ruled out by the manager as they are on the treatment table.

Lisandro Martinez and Marcel Sabitzer trained with the team but were not with the team as both players are serving their bans due to card accumulation. Marcel Sabitzer was due to miss his parent club's Champions League match against PSG but will serve the suspension in the Europa League as per UEFA rules.

Christian Eriksen and Donny Van De Beek are still far from returning to the team, as they are both recovering from ankle and knee injuries, respectively. Casemiro traveled with the team as his suspension doesn't interfere with European competition, but he still has one more match to miss before returning to the Premier League matchday squad.

Teenagers Kobbie Mainoo and Zidane Iqbal are with the traveling squad, as is Facundo Pellistri.

Manchester United travelling squad for Barcelona match: De Gea, Heaton, Butland, Lindelof, Maguire, Malacia, Varane, Dalot, Shaw, Wan-Bissaka, Williams, Fernandes, Fred, Casemiro, Pellistri, Iqbal, Mainoo, Rashford, Sancho, Weghorst, Elanga, Garnacho.
