Antony and Lisandro Martinez both agrees on one thing ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle

Manchester United's players are all fired up and ready ahead of their Carabao Cup final showdown with Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

It would be the best chance so far for Manchester United to lift their first trophy under Erik Ten Hag and also end their six-year trophy drought at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have had a magnificent season under Erik Ten Hag's guidance, as they are dominating the play on the pitch, grinding out much-needed results, and yet still competing on all fronts this campaign. Across the continent, they are the only team competing in four different languages.

Their terrific home form saw them complete a comeback against Barcelona in the Europa League on Thursday. They trailed the Catalans at halftime on their home turf, but turned things around with their resilient and gritty style at halftime, and Fred grabbed the equalizer while fit again. Antony ensured Manchester United progressed to the next round of the Europa League; they have been drawn against Real Betis in the round of 16.

Several of Man United's stars have given their various views about the Wembley showdown with Newcastle United. Brazilian winger Antony Santos, who scored on his return against Barcelona to seal a vital win for Man United, emphasized how the players want to bring back the glory days to Old Trafford.

"When I came here, I said that Manchester United is a huge club, and we’re going to put this club back where it belongs—fighting for and winning trophies,” he told club media ahead of the final.

"We know that it’ll be a tough task, but we’re aware of how big we are as a club and how good we are."

"It’ll be a dream come true in my first season if we can win a trophy." "I hope that I can keep at this so more glory follows."

Antony stated how excited he is about playing at Wembley for the first time in his career and claimed the team's ability to strive is down to the support the players have received from the fans.
"I’m really excited," he said. "I was talking to my mates at home about this, it’s going to be my first time there.  "It'll be a huge day for me; I can’t wait for this day to come around."

"Your first final in your first season is always going to be special," he explained.

"I’d like to say to them [the fans] to keep on supporting us and believing in us." "Obviously our fans never give anything less than 100% in all of our games; they’re always there for us."

"They need to keep at this, as it's really important for us to feed off their energy and have them there." "When we're on the pitch, we feel like we've got an extra gear, so we want them to keep believing in us because we're always fighting for them," he added.

Man United's defender Lisandro Martinez has also revealed that he is looking forward to lifting the Carabao Cup just a few months after he won the World Cup with the Argentine national team.
“It means a lot for sure [to reach the Carabao Cup final],” Martinez told Man United.com, ahead of the Wembley showdown with Newcastle.

“It’s my first cup final [with United], it’s not done yet for sure, but we will prepare for the game, we are ready for this game, to fight, and it would be fantastic to get this trophy.”

"That’s why we work hard; we try hard." "When you do the right things, these finals come, you know?" he added.

“The mood is amazing here; everybody is positive, and we have a lot of motivation as well." "We are hungry; we want to win, and that’s the mentality of the team."

The former Ajax defender stated he has experienced the Wembley stadium's atmosphere, and he is looking forward to meeting the club's demands.

I’ve been there, and I know the stadium very well. It’s an amazing stadium with good energy, and it’s up to us. "We have to be ready for that and in every detail,” he said.

“The motivation is really high, you know?" This club demands to win trophies, so the minimum is to win every final."

“We’re looking forward [to it] for sure." "Like I said, every game is really important, and we need that support from our fans.”
