With more recruitment being made into the team by Erik Ten Hag, Bruno Fernandes’ 2023/24 season will be EVEN better than his 2022/23 season (which for me was his best yet); let's see why.
— Less creative responsibility because of the Mason Mount acquisition will enable him to participate more off the ball in attacking scenarios, i.e the aggressive late box runs he used to make in his early United days as essentially a SS.
— The prospective signing of Sofyan Amrabat will see Bruno Fernandes play with a true deep controller for the first time since Nemanja Matić. Amrabat is a horizontally-minded passer which buys time for United in possession so Fernandes can use his 'elite' spatial awareness to find pockets of space in more advanced areas: often in recent times, he has had to come deep to receive the ball because of this deficiency. And remember there is a certain underated Casemiro already in the middle of the park.
— Erik ten Hag’s attacking patterns are elite; Fernandes created the most chances in the league last season, and his assist numbers were hindered by the lack of box presence. The signing of Rasmus Højlund should allow for his assist numbers to jump up — he is a world class quantitative creator.
— Having a true focal point in Rasmus Højlund will mean Fernandes’ verticality will be less futile, and he will be able to be involved in more movements in and around the penalty box. Højlund also tends to drift wide a lot, vacating space for advanced midfielder such as Fernandes, or can combine with Fernandes & Antony in the right wing to create a numerical overload.
-- Mason Greenwood; if he returns back to the squad will as well give Manchester United's attack a different look as he will bring his clinical abilities to the team. If Bruno Fernandes replicates his creative form of the 2022/2023 season, then goals will surely rain at Old Trafford
