In order to replace Jude Bellingham, Borussia Dortmund is reportedly interested in recruiting Manchester United starlet Hannibal Mejbri.
Bellingham is anticipated to leave Signal Iduna Park this summer in order to sign with Real Madrid, but German publication kicker claims that Dortmund would resist and seek a basic fee of €120 million in order to release the 19-year-old.
However, Sky Sports reports that Real are in a strong position to land him and that a deal would represent the highest transfer fee ever paid for an English football player.
Dortmund would have to find a replacement player if Bellingham were to depart the German outfit. They have frequently turned to the English market in recent years, buying players like Jadon Sancho, Jayden Braaf, and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens from the Manchester City academy.
Additionally, it has been suggested that they may look to Manchester's red neighborhood for a new young player.
If Bellingham does depart the team this summer, according to the German publication HL-1, Dortmund is interested in recruiting United's Hannibal, a midfielder.
The international from Tunisia spent the 2022–23 season on loan at Championship team Birmingham City. After returning from the World Cup, he wasn't a regular starter for the majority of the season, but his aggressive play style stood out.
In 38 league games for the Blues, Hannibal, who can play in central and attacking midfield, only scored one goal, but it was a memorable one. The 20-year-old caught West Brom goalkeeper David Button off guard during a 2-0 victory over the Baggies in February by firing a free-kick low into the bottom corner of the net from 35 yards out.
Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, is in a bind because of Dortmund's interest. The Dutchman intends to offer Hannibal, Alvaro Fernandez, and Amad Diallo pre-season opportunities after successful loan stints at Birmingham, Preston North End, and Sunderland, respectively, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Ten Hag has now choose between keeping the young player at Old Trafford and giving him the chance to shine next season or selling Hannibal in order to make money to pay for incoming acquisitions this summer.
