Victor Lindelof concurs with Ten Hag as he hails Marcus Rashford and Casemiro's impacts on United's season

Casemiro and Marcus Rashford have received high appreciation from Victor Lindelof for their contributions to Manchester United this year.

The club considers Casemiro to be the season's best acquisition, and on Thursday night, he put on another outstanding display in the 4-1 victory over Chelsea in the Premier League to ensure a return to the Champions League.

The Brazilian scored the game's first goal, and Rashford, who came off the bench, also scored, making him the first United player to reach the 30-goal plateau since Robin van Persie in 2012/13.

Speaking after the decisive victory over Chelsea, Lindelof took sure to acknowledge both players for their different contributions to the Reds' stunning turnaround this season.

He's (Casemiro's) a fantastic player, he's got a great mentality and he's a top professional," Lindelof told MUTV.

"He can control a game great for us, with or without the ball, so he's been massive for us this season."

"I'm also very happy for him [Rashford], he's been great this season. For him to score that many goals is just great and I think he can just keep on going and hopefully he can continue that until the end of the campaign."

"That [Old Trafford being a fortress] is amazing and it's always such a pleasure to play at home. To have the fans behind us all the time, we've always wanted to make it our fortress and I think we've done that this season."

Erik Ten Hag was also full of praise for the former Real Madrid midfielder and five-time UEFA Champions League winner.

"He's a massive player," he told SkySports. "Such a good signing. He adapted so well to Premier League football. He missed many games, and we noticed that. When he's not there, our game is different. You see how important he is in everything."

"This week, twice he's scored. The first goal is always the most important in the game. We knew his quality when we took him. He's doing a massive job, and we're really happy."

MUTV pundit and former Manchester United striker Dion Dublin marveled at Marcus Rashford's achievement this season after the 26-year-old matched Robin Van Persie's 2013 goalscoring record for Manchester United.

“His dedication to his trade, his skill, the amount he works when the season finishes, doing his own training," he said.

“His dedication to scoring goals has paid off. I’m really pleased for Marcus; he has had some hard times. He’s back.”
