OC Nice names price tag for Premier League target as Facundo Pellistri's future goes under the microscope

According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United will have to pay OGC Nice €30 million in order to hire Jean-Clair Todibo.

The center back is currently committed to the French team through June 2027. The Ligue 1 team has accepted that they will let the Frenchman go during the forthcoming transfer window.

To recruit the defender, though, the Red Devils will have to outbid a few Premier League opponents. Along with the Old Trafford team, Newcastle United and Liverpool are also keeping an eye on the 23-year-old.

Todibo initially joined Nice on loan from Barcelona before signing a contract with them in the summer of 2021. The Ligue 1 team has benefited from the center-back's success, and he has gotten stronger and stronger.

This season, the French national has also been an important member of Les Aiglons. However, the Allianz Riviera team currently sits in the middle of the league table, making it appear difficult for them to qualify for a European competition.

In Nice's backline, Todibo has excelled regardless. The 23-year-old has played in 42 games in every contest for the Ligue 1 team throughout the current season.

For the time being, Man United's defense is strong. This season, Erik ten Hag has selected Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez as his starting center backs.

But we also have Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire at our disposal. However, since the Dutch manager's arrival, our captain and the Swedish international have had a difficult time getting into games. However, given the defense's injury crisis, the Red Devils have realized the value of quality depth.

If Maguire or Lindelof chose to quit the team next summer, it would not be shocking. In that situation, additional help will be needed. Todibo appears to be a respectable choice to have on our radar in light of this.

What does Old Trafford future looks like for Facundo Pellistri

Facundo Pellistri was once again not utilized as a substitute by Manchester United.

I'll give you a dime for Facundo Pellistri's current opinions.

Despite the controversy surrounding Moises Caicedo's non-signing by United in 2021, it's possible that he would be a regular replacement at Old Trafford like Pellistri.

Caicedo is prospering since he has the chance to play frequently. Since joining the Premier League in 2020, Pellistri, another promising South American talent, has yet to make a league start.

Facundo Pellistri started for Manchester United for the first time ever in the Europa League just before the break for the international break.

He did well in this absence at Real Betis. He thrilled United supporters and received accolades from TV analysts. It had been a week since he assisted the Spanish team at home.

Since then, Pellistri has had a difficult time. Even with Alejandro Garnacho out due to injury, for some reason he has returned to being overlooked.

Since Real Betis' victory, Pellistri has played for seven minutes at Newcastle and nine minutes against Sevilla at home. Since April 13, or almost exactly one month, he has not performed at all.

United may have been able to use him in the game last night. or last week's away game at Tottenham. Pellistri is straightforward, carries the ball, and interrogates the opposition.

He must be questioning whether he is wasting his time at Old Trafford and whether the opportunities will ever present themselves to him. It doesn't seem like his accomplishments have been acknowledged.

Pellistri would probably be doing well if he were at last night's opponents Brighton. For United, a loan agreement or maybe including him in a Moises Caicedo trade bid might be enticing.

The issue with Caicedo is that. He has got the chance to play regular Premier League football and grow as a player, which has helped him progress as a player. Pellistri currently works as a well compensated observer and needs to play football in order to grow and learn.

If his circumstances significantly changed between now and the season's end, it would be unexpected.
