Man United's scouts tells Erik Ten Hag they have found his own 'Joshua Kimmich' in Arthur Vermeeren

As the season comes to an end, Manchester United's attention will soon turn to prospective new hires ahead of the summer transfer window. This is because the club will likely need new faces amid rumors of a potential mass departure from Old Trafford.

The Dutchman's goal is likely to be to transform his team into legitimate championship contenders next season, according to The Guardian, who stated that 15 players may be in jeopardy as manager Erik ten Hag continues his roster revamp at the club.

In terms of new arrivals, the center of the field is a crucial area that Ten Hag appears eager to fill, according to MEN, where it is suggested that a "younger" midfielder may be targeted to support the seasoned pairing of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.

In the process of looking for a more youthful addition, rumors in Spain have stated that United have already spoken to Arthur Vermeeren, who is wanted by Barcelona. The Royal Antwerp adolescent is reportedly only worth £20 million, according to the Daily Mail.

The 18-year-old "sensation," as talent scout Jacek Kulig dubbed him, is a Belgian youth international who has made 32 senior appearances for the Pro League team. He has been described as a "sensation" and is starting to draw interest from Europe's top teams after having a breakout season at home.

The deep-lying ace has also drawn comparisons to Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich, who is regarded as "one of the most talented teenagers in Belgium," with Ten Hag maybe on the verge of becoming his own version of the German jewel.

The similarity between the two is demonstrated by their ability to win the ball; Kimmich has averaged 2.4 tackles and 1.2 interceptions from his 33 Bundesliga appearances, while Vermeeren has averaged 2.7 tackles and 1.3 interceptions a game from his 24 league games this season.

Additionally, while Kulig claims that the Belgian's "football IQ" is "very strong," Kimmich has also received praise from Roma manager Jose Mourinho for being exceptionally "intelligent" and "phenomenal."

Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, claims that the seasoned playmaker is "untouchable" by the Bavarian giants despite recent links between United and the Bayern star (as reported by 90min).

With Kimmich's departure from the Allianz Arena expected to be particularly tough, Ten Hag may have found the £326k per week player's heir apparent in Vermeeren.
