Journalist confirms United's discussion with right back but Seria A's star price tag an issue

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano exclusively revealed to GIVEMESPORT that Manchester United and the agent for Jeremie Frimpong had productive discussions.

The 22-year-old has had a standout year for Bayer Leverkusen. Frimpong left Scottish club Celtic to join Leverkusen in 2021.

Frimpong played for Manchester City's academy before joining the Glasgow team, although he never quite made it to the Etihad Stadium.

Frimpong, though, might be moving back to Manchester after all, according to Football Insider, who claims that United are preparing a move to sign the promising right-back.

According to the report, Leverkusen values the Dutchman at about £50 million, but a deal might be struck for a little less. Frimpong recently discussed his future after numerous speculations suggested that he would leave Leverkusen.

"I don't know when I will decide about my future. I'm just concentrating on Leverkusen and the upcoming games," he said.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot are currently battling it out for a spot in the Manchester United lineup, and Erik ten Hag recently acknowledged that the contest is tight between the two athletes, adding, "I think it's really close, the competition between them. Maybe Aaron gives you a little bit more defending, Diogo gives you maybe a little more offence."

Instead of switching things up, Ten Hag might be seeking for a right-back to secure a regular spot in the side.

In preparation for a prospective summer transfer, Romano has stated that United and Frimpong's agent had fruitful discussions.

Dalot and Wan-Bissaka, as ten Hag pointed out, provide something slightly different from one another, so finding a right-back who can defend at a high level and contribute in the final third might be in his plans.

According to FBref, Frimpong has eight league goals and six assists this season. According to Sofascore, Frimpong also wins 6.3 total duels per game and averages 1.5 tackles on defense.

The former Man City defender would undoubtedly give this United team more offensive danger.

Man United lining up Oshimen's bid

Victor Osimhen of Napoli is reportedly being pursued by Manchester United this summer, and moving to Old Trafford is his "dream" transfer, according to a recent development.

Man United is reportedly still interested in signing Goncalo Ramos from Benfica despite the Portuguese club's acceptance that they will lose him at the end of the current season. Man United have set their sights on acquiring a new striker this summer.

Erik ten Hag is reportedly most interested in Lautaro Martinez, with the Red Devils prepared to pay £60 million to sign him for the upcoming campaign. Inter Milan might be compelled to accept this offer.

Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur is another option for United. It was recently claimed that they are planning to make the England captain a priority target because they think he can help them regain their title-contending status.

Sport Witness reported on an update from Italy that Man United are gearing up to sign Osimhen, and the player himself is rumored to be drawn to the offer. Ten Hag has identified a number of targets for the summer.

The Nigerian's transfer to Old Trafford would be a "dream" move, but getting him is challenging because Napoli is expected to seek €130 million (£113 million) plus bonuses to authorize his departure.

Additionally, teams like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain will pose fierce challenge.

With 28 goals across all competitions this season, including 23 in Serie A, the 24-year-old has been in outstanding form for Napoli. He is now ahead of Martinez in the all-time goal scoring lists.

The marksman, who has been hailed as "world-class" by the media, has been instrumental in Napoli's Serie A title-winning season, therefore it is not surprising that a number of clubs are vying for his services.

However, £113 million is a substantial sum and would be a club record at Old Trafford, especially in light of the possibility that Kane may be had for less given the rumor that Daniel Levy may be open to offers above £100 million.

Osimhen would still be a terrific addition, but Kane, who has established himself in the Premier League over many seasons, would be a stronger target this summer.
