"It's time"- Frank Lampard speaks on Mason Future in Comparison to Eden Hazard's exit

Mason Mount's departure from Chelsea this summer has been heavily hinted to by manager Frank Lampard, who is aware of Manchester United's interest in him.

Since numerous attacking players have joined Stamford Bridge during the past two transfer windows, Mount's future at the West London club is in doubt. He is not now among the top 20 paid players there. He is reportedly available for around £55 million.

Mount has stated his wish to join United in the event that Chelsea decides to move him this summer. As a result, his long-standing affiliation with the Blues would come to an end, and one of their most impressive academy graduates would join a direct opponent.

Lampard has expressed his pessimism about Mount's future at the club, saying that his status as an academy product had no influence on it. Lampard will leave the Blues at the end of the season after his brief tenure in the dugout.

"Because I've worked in football and I've worked long time, I understand that many things can happen,” Lampard has said of the future of Mount.

“That does not always depend on whether you come from the academy, or Eden Hazard leaving when he was the best player in the league. He only had one year left on his contract.”

He added: “Some things happen in football, some things are just decisions that you are not privy to. But I understand the feelings of a player who has come through the club and been really pivotal. He has been Player of the Year at the club twice, and he won the Champions League at such a young age. Everyone at the club is already aware of that."

“I think it remains to be seen how the situation goes forward and I think that is probably the best time to talk about it.”

In 195 first-team appearances for Chelsea, the team he first joined at age six, Mount has scored 33 goals. He spent two seasons on loan from the club, one each at Lampard's then-managed Vitesse in the Netherlands and Derby in the Championship.

Liverpool and Arsenal are also interested in signing the England international, but United now seems to be winning the race to sign him this summer.
