'Ten Hag ball'- Man United's fans reacts on twitter to Red Devils 19 passes 10 men move goal against Everton

For Manchester United's first goal against Everton, Erik ten Hag ball was in full swing as they constructed an incredible build-up for Scott McTominay's effort.

At Old Trafford on Saturday, Man United defeated Everton 2-0 thanks to goals from McTominay and Anthony Martial.

And the goal by the Scotland international in the 36th minute demonstrates the effort the team has been making in practice.

The web video footage displays the 19 passes that were made before the ball found its way into the goal.

David de Gea, Lisandro Martinez, and Harry Maguire all enter the game at the back.Marcel Sabitzer drives into the open space on the left wing before finding Marcus Rashford, who changes the play to the left wing picking up Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

From there, the right-back moves inside, combining with McTominay and Rashford before giving the ball to Jadon Sancho. The Man United winger then passes through a ball to McTominay, who brilliantly finishes the team move beyond Jordan Pickford to complete it.

Naturally, Man United supporters praised the breathtaking sequence that preceded the goal.

One Twitter user wrote: "Breaking down a Sean Dyche low block isn't for everybody @arteta."

A second tweeted: "All payers had a touch of the ball in the build-up to the goal. All 11 players involved, 19 build up passes to the goal... Ten hag ball at its fullest."

A third added: "Good to see these kinds of goals, straight outta training ground."

A fourth said: "Only just noticed how good the build-up to this goal was."

Another commented: "Osimhen or Kane in that game and were 4-0 up after 25 mins."

After only joining last summer, Ten Hag's football mindset and philosophies are beginning to take shape. It's encouraging because he indentifies himself with the group.

He remarked this following his team's 2-0 victory: "That you can deliver this in a third game in six days is a real credit to the team because it was a great performance - great, entertaining football and a win, so I'm really happy with it."

"But we have to be more clinical, more ruthless in the box of the opponent. I think this game should already have been finished by half-time. We didn’t but it was a brilliant performance."

"That’s very good: if you play three games in six days and can deliver this, that’s a big compliment to the team. We were very good in and out of possession - there were many players on the pitch who played at a high level."

Following today's 2-0 victory over Everton, Manchester United icon Paul Scholes alleged that Erik ten Hag had not utilized "his squad enough" during his tenure at Old Trafford.

After scoring against Sean Dyche's team this afternoon, Scott McTominay of Scotland and Antony Martial of France gave the Red Devils all three points to move them into third place in the Premier League.

Erik ten Hag will be anxious to lock down his team's berth in the top four, but United will face tough competition from teams like Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Brighton & Hove Albion, who are all hoping to snag a spot in the Champions League this year.

With the victory over the Toffees, Eddie Howe's team in fourth place now has a three-point lead over Spurs and Brighton, who are closely trailing them. After winning, players like Harry Maguire, Tyrell Malacia, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were all given their first starts.

These were adjustments that, in some situations, were necessary, such as when Malacia was given a berth after Luke Shaw's injury. However, Paul Scholes, a former United midfielder, thinks Erik ten Hag hasn't used these kinds of straightforward rotations enough this year. Scholes stated during a BT Sport interview.

"Something I don’t think Ten Hag has done is use his squad enough," Paul Scholes began.

"When players have come into a game they’ve really struggled at first to pick up the pace a bit and there’s a few of those positions - Malacia at left-back."

“Maguire’s got experience, I think it’s a decent game for him to come into today. It’s not easy when you’re coming in, Harry just has to make sure he’s prepared properly and he’s training properly."

“He looks the type of lad who will be doing that and he’s played for England, but coming to Manchester United, coming to the Premier League, it’s slightly different, he’ll be tested more, but I expect him to deal with it.”
