Possible lineup, team injury update ahead of FA. Cup clash with Fulham

Manchester United will take on Marco Silva's Fulham in the Emirates FA Cup on Sunday afternoon as they aim to secure a semi-final spot in the competition.

Erik Ten Hag has indicated that the Red Devils will not be getting the services of Anthony Martial and Anthony Smith. Anthony Martial is still on his journey to return to the squad, while Antony is yet to recover from his illness.

During his pre-match interview with club media at Carrington, the manager was asked to provide an update on two of the midweek absentees ahead of the cup contest.

Brazil winger Antony missed the 1-0 win over Real Betis due to illness, and Anthony Martial was also not on the trip despite returning to training recently.

"So we have to talk about it, and I think Anthony Martial will not be available and Antony Dos Santos, we have to see how he will progress," commented Ten Hag.

Brazilian midfielder Casemiro will start his first domestic four-game ban on Sunday evening and will not be available for Erik Ten Hag's side. Manchester United have always struggled without the former Real Madrid ace in their starting lineup, but Erik Ten Hag has ruled out such thoughts while still acknowledging how important the player is.

“We did really well without Casemiro against Arsenal, and the two against Leeds,” said Erik during his press conference.

“I think we also did really well without Casemiro at the start of the season, but I want to have Casemiro available because he has a huge impact on our game.”

Facundo Pellistri started Manchester United's 1-0 win in the Europa League during the week, ahead of Jadon Sancho and in Alejandro Gernacho's absence. The 21-year-old will be aiming to get a consecutive start as a United player for the first time.

Fulham have received a boost ahead of Sunday's clash as midfielder Joao Palhinha will return against Manchester United after being out of the Cottagers' matchday squad due to suspension. Former Manchester United stars Daniel James and Andreas Perriera will be looking forward to playing at Old Trafford again this Sunday.

Lineup

There will be no rest for David De Gea as he will be between the sticks. Lisandro Martinez will partner Raphael Varane, who will return to the starting eleven. Wan Bissaka and Luke Shaw will feature at fullback, with the left back returning after sitting out Man United's 1-0 win in Seville.

Mid field

No Casemiro means Fred or McTominay will partner Marcel Sabitzer while Bruno Fernandes continues to feature in the starting lineup.

Attack

Erik Ten Hag will be looking to bring back Jadon Sancho while Marcus Rashford retains his place on the left flank and Wout Weghorst spearheads the attack in hopes of getting on the scoresheet.
