'it motivates you'- Facundo Pellistri thanks fans for support on social media and hopes to get more playing time

Facundo Pellistri claims he appreciates hearing from Manchester United supporters that they want to see him play more frequently for the team. While on duty with the Uruguayan national squad, the young man spoke to ESPN.

Pellistri, 21, played for 68 minutes in a recent exhibition match between Uruguay and Japan. He is pleased with his growing role at Manchester United, where he recently made his first start in a victory over Real Betis on the road.

During the break, Facundo Pellistri earned his 11th appearance for Uruguay; currently, he is making up ground for Manchester United. Since his transfer to United in 2020, he had played no competitive games as of the start of 2023. He has now made a total of eight starts for the Red Devils.

He has played in seven of them as a substitute, and he frequently leaves Manchester United fans demanding more. He was even mentioned by former star Owen Hargreaves as a performer he wished to see more of.

Facundo Pellistri says that he has been recording the encouraging remarks he has observed on social media. He expressed his happiness at hearing from supporters of Manchester United and Uruguay that they want to see him play more for both his team and nation.

"It makes me happy, it would be worse if nobody wanted to see me play," he explained.

“Feeling that support from both the Uruguayans and the people from Manchester wanting me to play, motivates you and makes you keep putting in to have those opportunities that are coming and I’m enjoying them.”

The young player wishes to play a significant role this season and is becoming more and more involved with Erik ten Hag's team.

Pellistri added: “It makes me very happy to have more participation in the team. I recently played as a starter, that helps you feel better both in training and on a day-to-day basis."

“Hopefully I can follow this path, continue contributing, and at the end of the season I can win all the possible titles with the club.”

Ahead of the club's resumption to their 2022/2023 campaign after the international break, Facundo Pellistri has announced via social media that he is back at the club's training center in Carrington.
