Erik Ten Hag's men matches 23 year old Old Trafford record following win against Real Betis in the UEL

Manchester United achieved another milestone with their 4-1 win against Real Betis at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

The Red Devils have been brilliant since the arrival of Dutch tactician Erik Ten Hag from Ajax. The 53-year-old has turned them into a dominant and resilient team on the pitch since his appointment in June 2022.

While they have the Carabao Cup to show for their brilliant performances this season, the Red Devils equaled a 23-year-old record on Thursday night after beating Manuel Pellegrini's Real Betis to put one foot in the Europa League quarterfinals.

Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Wout Weghorst, and Antony all scored as they brilliantly cruised to their 20th home victory across all competitions this season. The last time they lost at Old Trafford was in the Europa League, when they were shocked 2-0 by Spanish side Real Sociedad in the first match of the competition's group stage.

While they have gone ahead to secure wins against top teams in the Premier League and also Barcelona in Europe, Old Trafford is definitely turning into a visitors' nightmare under Erik Ten Hag.

The 4-1 win means they have matched a record set back in 2000 after they have managed to score 2 or more goals in their last 15 consecutive home games. The last time they scored just once at Old Trafford was in October, when they beat West Ham 1-0 in a Premier League fixture.

They will be aiming to extend the brilliant run on Sunday when they host Southampton at Old Trafford. Thursday night was the fourth time in the history of Manchester United when the team scored two or more goals in 15 straight home games, plus they found the back of the net 41 times during the process.

It was a good way to bounce back from their 7-0 thumping at the hands of archrivals Liverpool last Sunday, and Sunday will be another opportunity to impress and fight to stay in their race for the top four.

The win means Manchester United are still competing in three different competitions and are in a great position to covet another trophy after the Carabao Cup win last February.
