Bruno Fernandes Instagram comments under Marcus Rashford's post speaks volumes about missed chances

Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes were at the center of attention on social media following the Red Devils' victory over Real Betis in the Europa League to confirm their progress into the quarterfinals of the competition.

In a game that Erik Ten Hag's side had to approach cautiously, Manchester United squandered a number of chances while Real Betis struggled to break down the Red Devils' defense at the other end. Wout Weghorst and Marcus Rashford were the culprits. But Marcus Rashford failed to score Manchester United's best chance in the game.

On resumption in the second half, Manchester United started knocking on the Real Betis defense, building attacks after attacks. The Red Devils would have thought they were about to break the deadlock after Bruno Fernandes smoothly played Marcus Rashford into a one-on-one situation with the goalie, only for the 25-year-old to hit the ball wide above the top of the net. He was clearly frustrated by his own efforts.

He however made amends after he was picked up by Casemiro's pass, unmarked and having plenty of space, Marcus Rashford took his time before unleashing a rocket from 30 yards into the bottom corner of the Real Betis net and went on to pull out his trademark celebration.

While Manchester United progressed with a 5-1 aggregate, Bruno Fernandes appeared unimpressed by the England international's misses during the game and threw it in as a joke in the 25-year-old's comments section following a post on Instagram.

"So you don't like the easy ones?" Bruno Fernandes commented under the England international's post. Marcus Rashford was quick to reply, "Next time it goes in, brother."

Marcus Rashford is the Red Devils' top scorer in the Europa League this campaign with six goals in eight appearances while assisting two more. The goal on Thursday night made him the youngest Manchester United player to reach 25 European goals in the club's history. He already has 36 goal contributions this season across all competitions for Erik Ten Hag's side.
