Manchester United's youngster Hannibal Mejbri has scored his first professional goal during Birmingham City's clash with West Brom at St Andrew's stadium.
The 20 year old who joined the championship side on season long loan deal has been impressive and added to his goal contributions on Friday night for the Blues.
In the 10th minute, Birmingham was awarded a free kick from about 30 yards away. With many Birmingham players standing on the edge of the box, it appeared as though Hannibal would cross the ball into the area.
However, the player had other plans. David Button, the goalie for West Brom, was seen at the far post. It was obvious that Button also anticipated a cross.
Hannibal Mejbri made the decision to take a shot at goal because Button wasn't covering his near post. His effort was strong and well-placed. Button struggled mightily to cross, but he was powerless to stop Hannibal's shot from going in.
While commentating the game on Sky Sports, Lee Hendrie was all gushing about the young player.
"That is absolutely class; it really is. Button leaves an awfully big gap at his near post but credit this man [Hannibal]," He stated.
"He takes it on and the connection is first class. It has pace, it's on the money. Button has got no chance at all of getting across and making the save. That is improvisation as its best."
Manchester United have a high regard for the 20-year-old. He made his Red Devils debut in 2021 and has since played in three games for the team.
At the beginning of the season, Hannibal joined Birmingham on a season-long loan because Erik ten Hag thought it would be preferable for him to get experience elsewhere.
The Tunisian, who has previously made 20 appearances for his nation, scored his first goal for Birmingham against West Brom in the Championship at St. Andrew's.
