Manchester United's star Anthony Martial has returned to training after struggling to stay fit this season for Erik Ten Hag's side.

The 27-year-old has been in and out of the team due to reoccurring injuries. Cristiano Ronaldo's contract termination last year saw the Red Devils left with only the French star as the recognized striker in their squad. However, his injury woes mean Manchester United were forced to bring in Wout Weghorst on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Despite being in and out of the squad, Anthony Martial has scored nine times this season and assisted on four more. He has always been known to be a threat against opponents and has developed an understanding with in-form attacker Marcus Rashford. Wout Weghorst has scored once since his arrival despite starting more games than the number 9; however, he has been vital with his work ethic and individual brilliance.

Wout Weghorst's arrival means the 27-year-old had all the time he needed to recuperate, while Erik Ten Hag and the medical team are not in a hurry to see him return to the match-day squad.

A video shared by Samuel Luckhurst, a MEN journalist who visited the Carrington training center on Wednesday afternoon, captured the former AS Monaco star training alone. Antony Santos also returned to training after recovering from a knock, and team captain Harry Maguire is also in contention for a return to the matchday squad after missing out on the weekend's victory against Leicester City.
