Breaking News: Man United appoints Everton staff as new Director of Football Operations

Manchester United has announced the appointment of David Harrison as director of football operations. According to the Daily Mail, David Harrison will oversee all tactical aspects of United's football endeavors and answer directly to John Murtough, the department's director of football at Old Trafford.
 
David Harrison, who is transferring from Everton, where he held a similar position, will be in charge of managing the football administration, team travel, and player support for the men's, women's, and academy teams.
 
David Harrison, who started his career at Old Trafford before moving to Everton in 1995, spoke to the team's official website.

David Harrison will succeed Alan Dawson, who is leaving the club after 11 years at the end of July. John Murtough, the director of football at Old Trafford, said, "David is known as one of the most able and respected operators in football, and we are delighted that he has chosen to join Manchester United."

The development arises after Everton announced via their official website David Harrison's departure from Goodison Park. The statement reads thus: 
 
Everton Football Club can confirm its Director of Football Operations, David Harrison, will leave the club at the end of this month to take up a new senior position at Manchester United.
 
David was appointed as Everton’s Director of Football Operations in June 2018, having served as Club Secretary since 2002.
 
Before becoming Club Secretary, David was manager of the Ticket Office for seven years.
 
During his time at Everton, David has also served as a non-executive director of Liverpool County FA.
 
Everyone at Everton would like to thank David for his outstanding dedication to the football club over the past 27 years and wishes him well in his future career.
 
Manchester United has also released an official statement to confirm the appointment of David Harrison at the club via manunited.com. The statement reads thus:
 
David Harrison has been appointed Director of Football Operations at Manchester United to lead all operational aspects of the club’s football activities.
 
He joins from Everton, where he held the same role for the Merseyside club.
 
David will report to John Murtough, Football Director, and be based at the Carrington Training Centre, with responsibility for ensuring that our football operations run as smoothly and effectively as possible.
 
This will include management of all our football operations at Carrington for the men’s, women's, and academy teams, including crucial areas such as football administration, team travel, and player support.
 
Rebecca Britain remains Club Secretary, reporting to David.

David grew up in Bury, Greater Manchester, and started his career in the ticket office at Old Trafford before moving to Everton in 1995 and rising through the club’s ranks. He will leave Everton at the end of February and start at Carrington next month.
