Manchester United's manager Erik Ten Hag has confirmed Manchester United duo Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial will be available to the team when they lineup for the return leg of the Carabao Cup's semifinals against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.
The two attackers have been out for quite sometimes. Anthony Martial has been in and out of the team due to reoccurring injuries while Jadon Sancho hasn't had enough game time since late October last year.
Cristiano Ronaldo's sudden exit, compounded with Anthony Martial inability to overcome his injury woes forced Erik Ten Hag and the team's management to make an emergency recruitment which saw Wout Weghorst's arrival on a loan deal from Burnley.
The 30 year old's arrival gave the French international the much needed space to rest and properly reocupates from his injury.
Jadon Sancho has been out due to illness this season, he was responsible for sparking the start of Manchester United's resurgence under Erik Ten Hag back in September. His absence wasn't felt much as a certain Alejandro Gernacho stepped up in his absence.
The England international missed out of the World Cup tournament in Qatar after the Three Lions left him out of the final squad list. He was subjected to personal training and therapy sessions by the club's manager away from England. He rejoined his teammates in training a while ago but had to train separately.
The €100 million man has been announced to be ready for a return to the match day squad alongside Anthony Martial by the manager during his press conference at Carrington training center.
"We have some issues,” Ten Hag told club media on Tuesday.
“I think tomorrow that Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho will return in the game squad, but Scott McTominay will still be absent.
“I think also the next game [against Crystal Palace] he will be absent. We have to see how that process will go. And for the rest, I think everyone is fit.”
Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw have recently struggled with illness and injuries, so it is uncertain whether they will be fit to face Steve Cooper's team.
Due to knee surgery, Donny van de Beek, a midfielder for the Netherlands, is sidelined for the remainder of the season and will be a long-term absence for United.
Christian Eriksen is also the latest injury update on Manchester United's list, the mid fielder is set to return between late April and early May following an ankle injury he got during Man United's victory over Reading from an Andy Carroll's reckless tackle.
