Goncalo Inacio reportedly wants Old Trafford move amid Liverpool's interest

Young Portuguese defender Goncalo Inacio, who now plays for Sporting Lisbon, is reportedly open to joining Manchester United this summer.

The center-back at Sporting Lisbon enjoyed a breakthrough season that won over several potential suitors. Although the defender's £53 million release clause is higher than his market value, his age and potential make him an excellent acquisition.

The 21-year-old has previously been associated with Manchester United's red side.

O Jogo asserts that United have started talking to the potential signee. Inacio is also said to be open to moving to the Red Devils, which further fuels the flames.

Considering that United is rumored to be looking for a center-back for a variety of reasons, a transfer may be in the works.

Erik ten Hag has recently struggled with injuries, and Harry Maguire's impending departure has made things worse.

Inacio would serve as Maguire's exact replacement. Being left-footed, he could stand in as Lisandro Martinez's backup.

Inacio has made 29 starts for Sporting in Liga Portugal, recording an average of 1.3 interceptions, 1.1 tackles, and most significantly, zero errors that resulted in goals.

The 21-year-old has superb footwork, scoring three assists and creating four great chances with a pass accuracy of 90%.

Although he is a raw gem, he has the potential to develop into a remarkable player with the correct guidance. Additionally, United lacks a young defender to nurture beneath the existing elite level of defense.

Numerous other elite European clubs are interested in him, so United will have to act quickly to sign him.

Le Parisien says that Liverpool is considering a summer transfer for Sporting's Inacio. However, it seems the defender may choose to sign with Manchester United. O Jogo claims that United has also gotten in touch with the Portugal defender over a potential deal.

Inacio is reportedly open to joining the Red Devils. The defender is drawn to the idea of playing for United.

It seems like Liverpool will have to work very hard to get a deal done for Goncalo Inacio.

Despite Manchester United's strength and likely participation in the UEFA Champions League the next season, Liverpool is a significant club.

Most likely, Liverpool will lose. Under the leadership of manager Erik ten Hag, the Red Devils are getting ready to compete for the Premier League championship and take part in the UEFA Champions League.
