"Fans could complain"-Alan Shearer issues transfer decision advice to Harry Kane

Newcastle United's legend Alan Shearer and former Tottenham Hotspur's mid fielder Jermaine Jena's has weighed in on Harry Kane's future after the Spurs highest goal scorer record older is set to end the season without yet another trophy.

The 29 -year-old who is set to turn 30 in June will as well miss out of the UEFA Champions League next season and probably the Europa League after losing 3-1 at home on Saturday afternoon to Brentford.

Despite scoring a brilliant free kick to give the Spurs the lead in the first half, a second half double from Brentford's Mbuemo and Wissa's finishing condemned the Whites to a defeat at home.

Alan Shearer, Newcastle United's greatest player ever while speaking on BBC Sports sent a message across to Harry Kane regarding seeking for trophies elsewhere.

“If it was me, personally, in his situation now – yeah, I would look at my options,” Shearer said on Match of the Day.

“He has been so loyal to Tottenham and so brilliant for Tottenham. I don’t think any Tottenham fan could complain if he said: ‘Look, I’ve done my time and I have got to look elsewhere.”

Critics believed it would be wise for the England international to follow Alan Shearer's advice as the former Newcastle United forward who spent a chunk of his career years at Tyneside could have ended his glamorous career without a major trophy, all thanks to those he won with Blackburn, which is why his career remains a perfect one.

Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas weighed in, saying (via Manchester Evening News): “I think that (little hope next season) is the thing that’s most upsetting for fans. There is no doubt that teams can go through tough times and so on and so forth – if you lose managers.

“But there doesn’t seem to be a path or direction. There’s no manager, no style of play. Who is staying? Who is going? And their biggest problem: their best player. No-one knows what is happening with Harry Kane right now.”

Harry Kane is eyed by several top clubs, Manchester United are reported to be the main club seeking for his signature, although, Bayern Munich are reportedly interested as well.

However, Harry Kane has stated that Tottenham Hotspur's chairman Daniel Levy and the board will decide his future.

"It's been a difficult season," Kane told Sky Sports.

"Probably the last couple of years, the last two or three, we haven't been where we want to be as a club, so ultimately, there's some internal stuff we need to talk about."

"We need to discuss some of the standards around the team and the training ground, which we need to get back to. We had [standards] those in place when Mauricio Pochettino was here, so internally we need to do that."

"The chairman [Daniel Levy] will make a decision on what he thinks is best for the club, in terms of the coach and who he wants to bring in, the players to go and who he wants to bring in."

"I always think you're never too far away from being competitive with the right people, but also, you're never too far away from dropping down to 10th or 11th place in the Premier League because that is the standard."

"It's an important moment for the club, to feel a connection again with the fans, who I know have been frustrated with these moments. We need to try to build that relationship back up and try to push all in the same direction."
