Academy duo trains at Carrington training center as 17 year old gets England call up for Euro Championship

Finley McAllister, a young player for Manchester United, has been selected for this summer's European Championships team for England's under-17s.

The only member of Manchester United to be named to the finals team is Finley McAllister. Ethan Nwaneri, who made his first team debut for Arsenal earlier this season, is also a member of the team.

The call-up is encouraging for McAllister since it will allow him to play in the remaining under-18 games after missing several months of sport due to injury. For the under-18s, the 16-year-old midfielder made a total of 11 games and contributed one assist.

At the under-17 level, Finley McAllister has already earned six caps for England. He received three under-16 national team appearances.

Since he made his under-18s debut for Manchester United in 2021 at the age of just 14, surpassing a record previously held by Angel Gomes, he has been one to watch.

The competition is being held in Hungary and will get underway this week. The quarterfinals, semifinal, and championship game are over by May 24. The group stages continue through that week.

On Thursday night, England's Group D matchup with Croatia is scheduled to begin. The group also includes Switzerland and the Netherlands.

Former players Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, and David de Gea all participated in the competition.

Two academy players train with the first team at Carrington training center

Dan Gore and Omari Forson were invited by Erik ten Hag to train with the first team group on Wednesday.

The double boost provided by Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay's return to training was the big story to come out of Carrington on Wednesday.

This Saturday's match against Bournemouth, United's final away Premier League game of the year, should see both players in action. There are still two games against Chelsea and Fulham at home.

Erik ten Hag called two young players into the first team training session, according to the report. Erik ten Hag can be seen addressing the first team squad—which included the academy duo—in a group photo from the training session.

The under-21 and under-18 games have concluded the academy season. Erik ten Hag desires for his young players to remain.

Even if Forson and Gore aren't really being looked at for first team positions right now, Ten Hag will be keeping a watch on them in the long run.

He might even be evaluating them in light of Manchester United's upcoming preseason trip to the United States. A young team is anticipated for the game against Wrexham.

Along with Alejandro Garnacho, Dan Gore started for the team that won the FA Youth Cup. With 26 overall appearances for the academy this season, including 21 at under-21 level, the center midfielder has had a successful campaign.

The England under-18s international made the transition well, and if Ten Hag is pleased with what he sees, don't rule out another move up to his first team debut the following season.

18-year-old Omari Forson has scored twice in three games for England's under-19 national team. With nine goals in 25 appearances, the winger has also had a great academy season.

For United to guarantee Champions League status, it needs to win two of its last three games. If the first team can win the next two games, maybe one or two young players may play in the last game against Fulham at home.
