Dean Jones tips United to sign Adrien Rabiot for free as details of Greenwood's frustration emerges

According to transfer source Dean Jones, Manchester United may be one of the teams vying for the services of soon-to-be free agent midfielder Adrien Rabiot at Old Trafford this summer.

Erik ten Hag will be looking for support from the Red Devils' executives in the forthcoming transfer window.

Manchester United is 'getting ready to go on the offensive,' according to Tutto Juve, in their pursuit of Juventus' Rabiot this summer.

According to the same source, the 28-year-old's potential suitors include Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Paris Saint-Germain.

After agreeing on a £20 million transfer fee, Rabiot appeared to be on his way to the Manchester United last summer. However, a dispute over his pay caused the move.

Dean Jones, though, thinks that a number of teams may be interested in signing the £113,000 per week earner when his deal with Juventus ends at the end of the current campaign.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “Adrien Rabiot’s name is one we will see circulated a lot in the coming weeks because his contract is winding down, and there does seem to be a drive to get him to the Premier League."

“There was the Manchester United link, but I think we will also hear more clubs this time. Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham will be looking for new solutions in his position. With that in mind, intermediaries will work to see if an opening suits him at any of those clubs. I wouldn’t totally rule out United, given they looked at the situation before."

“He’s a big player in his role, so I think he will set his sights high and believe he can cut it pretty much anywhere."

“It has been a strange season at Juve, and their cup defeat to Inter in midweek has led to quite a backlash. A lot of that is against Allegri, but this team are just pretty unreliable, and whatever comes next, it feels like they need a shake-up of the eleven.”

Rabiot has given those watching him at the Allianz Stadium this season a treat if this is to be his final year with Juventus.

The 36-cap France international has been hailed as a "complete player" by Italian icon Andrea Pirlo. He has double-digit goals this year, which has undoubtedly caught the attention of some of the finest clubs in Europe who are interested in signing him on a free transfer.

And the Saint-Maurice-born player could serve as a significantly less expensive substitute for Jude Bellingham of England and Borussia Dortmund, who is valued at £130 million and has drawn interest from most of the Premier League's top clubs over the past 12 months.

Therefore, ten Hag might believe that bringing Rabiot in as a free agent will free up money to spend on a second center forward, a position the Red Devils are eager to bolster.

The latest Mason Greenwood's update

According to reports, Mason Greenwood told his mates that he doesn't think he'll ever play for Manchester United again. The forward hasn't rejoined the first team since the accusations against him were dropped in February.

Greenwood's charges of rape and assault were dismissed in February, but United decided to launch an internal investigation to determine whether the product of the academy may rejoin the team.
However, no decision has been made because partners and players from the men's and women's teams are opposed to the idea of the 21-year-old rejoining the team after his arrest in January 2022.

The Sun reports that the England international has been told his close pals that he expects to be on the move after 12 weeks of waiting for a decision on where his future lies. He does not think he will ever play for the Red Devils again.

A source reportedly told them: “Mason believes he’s finished at United. He’s sat at home kicking his heels and very frustrated."

“He wants to get back playing football but realises his situation is very complicated and it’s his own doing. He is determined to play football again but doesn’t think he’ll ever pull on a United shirt ever again.”

Despite interest from AC Milan, Greenwood isn't reported to be "resigned" to trying to restart his career abroad. According to sources, the Italian club has queried about his availability and clarity regarding a somewhat ambiguous situation at Old Trafford.
