The Premier League has witnessed a crazy campaign so far, but what is the table looking like as the season's climax edges closer?
The title race between Arsenal and Manchester City has taken a dramatic turn as Pep Guardiola's side has replaced the North London club at the top spot while still having two extra games to play compared to Arsenal's one. They lead with just one point and a 14-goal difference.
The race for European competition next campaign has as well entered its crucial state, as every point counts. Newcastle United are in third place with 65 points, while Manchester United are behind them with 63 points, but Erik Ten Hag's side has two outstanding games to play.
Jurgen Klopp's side recorded a narrow 4-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, snatching the needed three points at the death to stay in fifth place and increasing their chances of playing in the Europa League next campaign. With 56 points, they lead Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, who are sitting sixth and seventh, respectively, with 54 points each. Liverpool, however, are at an advantage as they have one outstanding game to play and solidify their place in fifth place.
But Brighton Albion can still sabotage the Reds chances as they have four outstanding games to play and have 52 points while sitting in 8th position. They reignited their quest for European qualification with a resounding 6-0 home win over Wolverhampton on Saturday afternoon.
Brentford are struggling to keep up as they have fallen to the bottom of the top 10 of the table with 50 points, while Fulham are behind them with 45 points in 10th position.
Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Bournemouth, and Wolverhampton are midtable teams, with Chelsea having two outstanding games to play.
West Ham, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, Leicester City, Everton, and Southampton are all caught up in a relegation battle. Southampton appears to be certain to play in the English Championship next season. They have just 24 points and have just four games left to play.
Manchester United's manager Erik Ten Hag reacted to his side beating Aston Villa to keep their hope for Champions League football alive ahead of next season.
"A good three points but I think an impressive performance from us. We were magnificent on the ball, had good possession and pressed well," he told MUTV.
“We look from game to game and next we have Brighton so we need to work hard again. We need to show passion again and not worry about the table.
“We are totally in position for the top four, it’s all about us and it’s in our hands.”
